Hi! I don't know if you do asks for OAB anymore, but here goes.

I'm pretty sure the boggart scene happens in third year, which just so happens to be the year the current book is on.

Are we going to see Merlin's boggart? Or will he somehow evade this class?

I'll always do asks for OAB, sometimes it just takes me a few days to go over my notes.

The boggart scene is one of my favorite scenes of third year, and I wrote the outline for the OAB version ages ago. Mostly because I needed to workshop what his boggart would be, but yes! It will make an appearance in class, in front of everyone.

I'm going to have a different Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher (than Lupin) and so the Boggart will be used in the Slytherin class, resulting in fun trauma bonding for the lot of them.

That's a great question and I promise I'll figure out an answer... Soon? I hit a little bit of a wall so Im working on a different project to get the creative juices going again 😅

What are your thoughts on people writing fanfic based on Only A Boy? I have a small plot bunny but I won't go ahead with it if you're not comfortable with it.

I’m going to tell you something anon, and it’s about this dream I have. I have a dream, one day, that I will have published a successful novel and that someone will want to write fanfiction of my work. And because in this fantasy, I own the publishing company and all the rights - I will take submissions and PUBLISH them.So in short, um yes please write fanfiction of my work! The only stipulation, of course, is that you credit me. NOW I might not read it until after Only A Boy is completed because… I don’t want to cause a possibly weird situation. BUT I hope it would be okay if I add it to my website so I can read it later/direct folks who are interested in OAB fanfic)

when can we expect a new oab chapter? the previous one was amazing!

Why, thank you! I I’m working on increasing the speed in which I update chapters but fanfiction does have to share my attention with original writing i.e. writing I can get paid for ^^” So I’ll get it out as soon as I can but I have an exact deadline in mind. I would prefer to post end by the end of April or beginning of May, but we’ll see if life lets that happen.

Probably really random but did you know you could create an author page on Goodreads and have Only a Boy as a book so people could say they read your story and get recommendations for other reads. Like I said, random, but the author of The Student Prince did that

I think a Discord would be fun! There could be general chatter, some discussion about the Harry Potter and Merlin fandoms, and of course a place to react to your newly released writings! It would be cool to kinda be able to discuss the latest revelations in Only a Boy, as well as theories and predictions for the future. It would definitely make for a more conductive atmosphere for genuine reactions - asks and reviews always feel like they have to be formal and distant.

I guess Merlin wont be returning to his time? If that is so, is he aware that he will not be seeing his friends from then again? I don't remember him ever thinking about that, but unless it would be spoilery now, i think that might be something natural to ask for his now-friends. Also i want Merlin to be sad... hehe...
