Her laugh echoes through the woods as she runs. He's crashing through them as he chases her, but she knows the place well, knows when to jump, where to twist as she leads him further in. It is just too easy. She can't help herself to play and tease when they leave themselves so open.
She weaves a spell as she darts over a fallen log, balancing carefully on a moss-covered stone as it settles around her. She waits, wanting to see what will happen next. She's not worried about him finding her, not with the anger and fear that she smells coming off of him. He'll blind himself soon enough, too lost in his emotions to see the illusion she draws. She giggles to herself, aware of the spirits of the forest that watch her. She waves to one, a figure of a young girl with eyes older than her appearance. The girl's head tilts, watching her.
There's a crash as the man trips over the log she had erased from his mind. He should have known, she justifies to herself. It's no secret that things like her exist, that they can't help but be drawn to the desire to play with humans. Especially when she sees the cruelty some possess. All she's doing is offering what he's given to others. He was all too willing to let her close. She'll lead him higher up the mountain. That will be a good trick. He'll learn or die.
She giggles again before twisting the illusion slightly. His eyes cloud as it takes hold and she sees the lustful expression that's tainted by his need for revenge. She whistles lightly, a soft tune to draw his attention before she winks at the spirit girl again. She darts off, knowing he's seen her and is following. Maybe a little higher than before, but away from the traps the masked man has lain. She has no problem with him. Not when he leaves out treats and charms for her. which she repays when she can. Now though? She has a human to teach a lesson to.
