"I love the use of purple ☺️💗"
—Spider Noir in a deleted scene
Watching the Spider-Noir series in black&white is pure cinema for me. Seeing how the light works is just so fascinating.
I can't imagine why you would watch Spider Noir in colour.
Like does Amazon think people are that stupid? I mean probably but still.
Its Spider NOIR. As in film NOIR.
And it is also blatantly filmed, lit and edited to look like a film from the 1930s. It is filmed to look good in BLACK AND WHITE.
All of that is lost in colour...much like actual old movies that were colourized after the fact.
I am judging you if you watched the "true hue" on purpose.

Chapter 1 is here of my daredevil / spider noir story! All 4 (or 5 can't decide if I'm splitting 4 up) should be up today, and then the alternative first 3 chapters will be up by the end of the day

Hi there! Loved your take with the whole they're ruining Spider-Man Noir's narrative! I do agree with some parts and I wanna expound a bit more!
My memory with his comics is quite hazy, but I think I still got it! Okay, you had a minor error in your first statement, it wasn't a post ww1 per se, but more like a pre-ww2 era — since it was set in 1933, the beginning of the third reich.
Also, yes! he was supposed to study and continue his college, and the whole P.I shtick came from the spider verse movie, prompting the creation of the 2020 and to now (2026) comic. The clichés started with, again, ITSV. The idea of him changing stories and changing attitude isn't new to his character, this is his probably 5-6th retcon lmao (it's hard to be a fan for this guy ❤️🩹)
Ever since the announcement of this new show was released I wasn't really ecstatic with the idea, after finding out that Nick Cage was gonna play him I was a bit torn whether or not it'll end in an actual success. I loved Ben, I mostly loved Janet not gonna lie she was the only thing I truly stayed for LOL
Also, I'm pretty sure Ruby isn't an MJ, but a Gwen. A reference to his new love interest with the comic it released with.
The idea of removing a fundamental role in a noir film, a femme fatale, is like removing the seasoning of a dish 🤌🏼. This isn't the same Noir you read nor the same Femme Fatale you once knew. Honestly if anything they gave Felicia a good arc in the series, I'm honestly glad they didn't end up!
sorry for the ramble! i love seeing other fans speak out, it's pretty dope!
HII ANON THANK U FOR ADDING ONTO THIS!!
I do apologize if my memory was a bit inaccurate, I haven’t read the 2009 comics in full since maybe 2023.
And I’m gonna be honest, yeah my knowledge of basic history isn’t the best either. BUT HEY, I mostly got it down.. almost..!!!!
ALLLSSOOOO I kinda feel like ruby is neither an MJ or a Gwen but something else (we totally need that.. right) and I’m gonna be honest with you I only really watched the first episode of the show, it wasn’t really my cup of tea. So I just said she was a version of MJ because she’s been there since ewof and Gwen only really was in the newer comics until he “broke up with her” and “got back with mj” (the ending was sooo vague, I literally don’t get it)
And still, I will always be a little bit salty towards the fact they kept pairing him up with Felicia. I know this is a different universe, but the undertones of grooming in the 2009 comics were so obvious it just feels wrong. Not every noir piece of media needs a femme fatale, and you can still have a good show without one!!
Sorry to disappoint yall who wanted my Daredevil/spider noir story I promised today.... it's not happening.
I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and cannot remember the sentences I just typed, so tomorrow is when it will be posted... because right now, I'm just exhausted.
Also writing The Hand is just pissing me off
