In the Dead of Night

It was blatantly obvious that Oil did not take the news of Time's incompletion well. Taking off work just to yell at those in charge of the Chronos Institute told Time that much, at least. Now? Now Oil was going to go to Dr. Wily's first base in the dead of night, despite unknown dangers, just for the mere chance of his parts necessary for completion being there.

Time partially blamed himself for this. Perhaps if he let the rest of the family in on this sooner, they wouldn't be in this situation. His pride got the better of him, so he kept quiet. He only realized in hindsight what a mistake that was.

Time only stumbled across Oil's plan to go in the first place because his nightmares kept him awake, and when trying to take a walk, he overheard Oil and Auto speaking. He was almost grateful for his nightmares of the MKNs hurting him over and over again, though it still cost him too much sleep for him to say he was thankful.

Still, he was much better than when he was brought in from the MKN onslaught, he could help Oil get his parts at the very least. Quietly armoring up, Time teleported to Dr. Wily's former base, figuring that tracking him down shouldn't be too hard.

Dr. Wily's first base. Time didn't have many good memories of the place, with the exception of the first thing in his registry being recognizing Oil. Though, Time wasn't here to reminisce, so he pushed the thoughts and memories out of his head and focused on the task at hand. He had to find Oil, preferably before he got inside the base, and try to help him.

Thankfully, there was really only one entrance to Wily's base. Unless if Oil was skating in, Time figured he should be able to catch him before he got inside.

As predicted, his search didn't take very long. It was simply a matter of running ahead and looking both ways, and less than a minute of that led him to Oil... in a less than stellar manner. Crashing right into him was not how Time planned for this to go, but hey, he found him!

"Sorry," Time stammered, picking himself up. "I'm usually more graceful than this."

Chuckles, but doesn’t move his hands yet.

“It’s someone.~ ♥ You gotta guess! Maybe you’ll get something nice if you guess right... Well. I think it’d be nice, anyways!”

First Date ♥

To say Rhythm was excited was a bit of an understatement. After contacting his fifth line brother to inform him (and via said brother, the rest of them) about Quint, the redhead had turned his attention to his morning plans. He’d woken up early enough that checking the time would tell him Rap was still asleep, so he’d turned his attention to fussing over details like what he ought to wear and how to style his hair. 

It wasn’t a date, he knew that... But that wasn’t stopping the DWN from imagining it was.

By the time he’s found slightly nicer clothes than usual to wear, Charge has gotten back to him. Nice. That made the search a lot easier, at least-- Even if they didn’t have time to go outright looking, he knew his brothers would at least be watching carefully for any signs of the kid. He texted back a thanks, wishing Charge a good day, then began to fuss over his hair. Should he bother putting it up? Rap seemed to like it when it was down... And with how rarely he left it alone, Rhythm felt it might be better to do so.

...Oh! Right! He should probably find out whether the DLN brothers are awake, and... And whether Time is coming along in the first place.

...On second thought, maybe he ought not to make any awkward attempts at flirting. Rap might have said he loved him, but that could’ve been in a totally platonic way... Well... The damage was done. He’ll just-- Stop for now. Yeah.

“Heeeya, kiddo,” Rap said as he opened the door. He walked over to ruffle Time’s hair, grinning as he knelt down to his brother’s height. “Feelin’ any better?”

The baby at least looked a bit better than when he’d been on the repair table. That was kind of a given, but still. He didn’t ask right away if Time wanted to join him and Ree for breakfast; nor tell him about his screw-up with Quint. Kind of too early for that.

Time smiled upon seeing Rap, which removed the stoic expression from his face. He chuckled a bit as his hair was ruffled, and he welcomed this break from his preparation. He really, really did not want to go to work today.

"Yes, I'm feeling a lot better. My systems have mostly recalibrated, and they'll probably be back to normal by tomorrow." Time frowned a bit, not liking the little fib he just told. It was true that he would be just fine by tomorrow, but that was if he stayed at home and rested more. Since that wasn't the case, he didn't know if he would be fully recalibrated in that time frame.

"... Well, uh... I would be recalibrated by tomorrow, but... I have to go to work soon. They need my help analyzing the data I gave them, and I'm not sure if or how much it will impede that process."

Please don't make him stay behind today, please don't make him stay behind today, not today...

Knock, knock. It's your big brother coming to check up on you, Time. Rap had taken care to make sure it was a bit after Time was scheduled to wake up and not to be too intrusive in case the baby was still sleepy- but there was one thing he wanted to ask the child, in terms of last-minute scheduling.

Against everyone's wishes and his own protocol, Time was getting ready for work. His coworkers had called him in, insisting they needed him to help analyze the information he had given them regarding Quint's time stream. He was still recalibrating from his injuries, but he wanted to get started on this long review as soon as possible.

Time jumped a bit upon hearing the 'knock knock,' but he relaxed immediately afterward.

"Come in, the door's unlocked."

Wait... What?! 

To say the DWN was extremely confused was an understatement. He’d been called over without much context; Oil had said there was something really important they needed to talk about-- In person; Messaging wouldn’t feel right. So he’d shown up, and... Oil had kissed him?! Quite passionately, too, for someone who claimed to be straight.

Still... Whatever this was -- he’s sure it would be addressed as soon as one of them broke contact -- was fine with him! He’s been in love with the DLN for as long as he can remember, and Quick is not about to pass up a chance to get that point across. His internal temperature’s raised, a heavy blush dusting across his entire face as green eyes flutter shut... 

He loops an arm around Oil’s waist, pulling the industrial ‘bot in much closer as he responds in kind; The other rising to rest against the back of his best friend’s -- boyfriend’s now, maybe? -- head. He’s well aware at some point they’re going to have to break apart and probably talk about what just happened, but until then he’s determined to leave his best friend absolutely breathless.
