"YOU    ARE    NOT    MY    DAUGHTER."    harsh,    cruel,    uncalled    for.    he    looks    down    at    the    girl    and    grabs    her    face,    observing    her    CAREFULLY    before    pushing    away.    she    is    much    smaller,    easier    to    break.    red    eyes    look    unamused    as    he    observes    her    more,    circling    as    a    hand    caresses    her    hair.    

"does    this    anger    you,    delphini?    you    are    my    HEIR    and    nothing    more."    licks    his    lips,    throat    dry...an    annoyance.    she    was    an    ANNOYANCE.    only    a    few    people    didn't    annoy    him,    didn't    make    him    angry.    they    weren't    here...not    even    nagini.    "what    could    you    do    to    make    me    proud?"

udyati looks at delphini and she almost laughs aloud. almost. "how have i been confusing?" delphini always seems to be unruffled. cool and collected. sharp tongued, sharp eyed as she is, the blonde definitely has udyati's head spinning and spinning and spinning some more.

"i'm---i'm, um, pretty sure it's the other way around."

dark brown doe eyes flick towards the column of their neck and then to their mouth, their chest, ever so briefly, and it takes a heartbeat for udyati to be able to tear her eyes away, cheeks burning.

sometimes she feels as though delphini knows about the little crush she's got. but how could that be? udyati'd rather die than spill the proverbial beans. if delphini doesn't know, delphini can't reject her. there. it's as easy and simple as that.

but then delphini says stuff like that and looks at udyati like she wants to devour her and gods, udyati thinks she would let delphini devour her if that's what she really wants.
