This little one has her first 1st grade field trip coming up and this momma won't be able to accompany her. As a working professional badass, I don't get to do everything I want to do with my kids. Trust and believe, there is a lot of grief in that sentence. Part of me totally wants to be the classroom mom, be at every field trip, or spend my entire day volunteering around the school. But that isn’t my reality and truth be told I really like my job. The constant balance between personal and professional ambition can lend a teensy bit of guilt to my mommy-hood. Then I find pictures like this and I remember that my daughters love me. I might miss small moments but I work so that we can have BIG moments like these. I’m so grateful for our travel life — as simple as it may be.
