This happened last night, curious what the ruling is, as we found conflicting answers: player B has an Ethersworn Canonist, and it's player A's turn. Player A casts Goblin Guide main phase 1, and attacks. Main phase 2, he goes to suspend a Rift Bolt. Can he suspend the Rift Bolt? Why or why not? Thank you!

You have to be able to begin to cast the spell to suspend it, and you can’t cast non-artifact spells at that time since you’ve already cast a non-artifact spell this turn.
