Hi! First of all, I want to say how much I admire your work—it's incredible! You're one of those people who's inspired me to try creating my own cc, haha! I also have a question related to cc that I'd like to address to you, if possible. Have you ever encountered a situation where a sim arms seem to fall into their sides/clothing when changing their body type? I've encountered this problem and I'm not quite sure how to fix it: uv_1, the weights and vertices seem to be set and otherwise work correctly, but when changing a sim weight, the arms behave incorrectly relative to the hips. I'd be very grateful if you could share your experience if you've encountered something similar. In any case, thank you for your work!
Hello there, thank you for all the kind words!
Hmm, tbh I don't think I ever had this particular problem, but in my experience any arms-related problems are best fixable with CASTools*. Are you familiar with it? It's an external program by the late CmarNYC (but regularly updated by Andrew), you can download it HERE.
Once you've installed it, you open the .exe file, go to 'Clone Package Editor', click 'Select' and choose the problematic package. When it's loaded, you go to the last tab, 'Mesh Fixer Tools' and click the 'Auto-Assign Calculated Slotrays (Arm Position)' button. Then simply click 'Confirm Changes' and 'Save Package'. That should do the trick!
(As you can see, there are also other slotray-related buttons on the right side in case the simple auto-assigning doesn't work, but so far I never had to use them. Though in my case the common problem is rather 'arms jumping up into a T-pose', on all body types, so quite a different thing. Still though...)
Hope that works for you - fingers crossed!
Oh, and maybe make a backup of your file first, just in case 😅
*While I think it is possible to fix slotrays in S4S, it's complex, time-consuming and includes lots of trial-and-error. I was messing with them once, years ago, before I discovered CASTools, when my sims' hands were floating in the air when they were sitting down: HERE is my takeaway from that wonderful experience. I'd definitely recommend using CASTools instead 🙈
