If I had a nickel for every time I read a book where I share a birthday with a male character who is constantly linked to wolves, I'd have two nickels.

Girl, nooo, Rigel?!? Really?? I’m Italian, and here we all HATE HIM, especially in the movie. He is the MOST CRINGE character ever because most of the movie, he was talking in such a low voice and saying cheesy stuff😭🥹. I swear, the book is better (not the best-written book ever, though, since it comes from Wattpad😭🥹). I wish more good Italian books got famous instead of Tears of Smith or whatever it’s called in English.
When I posted this, I meant book Rigel… Even though I think the movie was not bad at all and it was very entertaining—not to mention the stunning cinematography.
As for the book: I really enjoyed reading it. I hate it when people go all like “oh this book is so bad” because generally it comes from a biased point of view that tends to bash on everything perceived as girly just for the sake of it.
Another point that makes me like this book so much is this: have you noticed how lately many books involve the female lead falling for a rich guy? The Tearsmith subverts this “logic”. Nica falls for Rigel because of who he is. He doesn’t have anything to offer her aside from his love. And he falls for her because she is kind. It’s not a transactional relationship. They went through an impossible situation, and they’re trying to be loved. Yes, it’s cheesy—the power of love and all that crap—but it’s cute, it’s sweet. Of course they say stupid shit, they are like 17 or 18 years old! If anyone had recorded “my lines” when I was their age, it would be the cringiest thing! It wouldn’t be believable if at that age they were mature, yk? Most romances thrive in the characters lack of emotional maturity. You see, if the characters in dark romances were smart, the book would be over by page three.
And last but not least: for those who don’t know, I have a Literature degree. Which basically means that I have read everything: Shakespeare, Nietzsche, Homero, Tolstoi, Bukowski, Nabokov, Dickens, Jane Austen, Emily Brontë, Sun Tzu, Beauvoir, Marx, Joyce, Machado, Lispector… Amongst others… I understand the quality of the classics, what they mean historically, their literary superiority and whatnot. But, you see, sometimes, all I want is the cheesy stuff. Especially nowadays that I have spent most of my days studying law; by the end of the day I just want to read something downright stupid and have fun.
ok… when are we going to gather and talk about rigel wilde?
CHAPTER ONE.
━ The change of seasons was in the air, and the last few days of August passed like a sliver in time and space. The mornings were cool, ideal for those light sweaters that are only worn in such circumstances.
Every few hours, a bus full of Sunny Creek Boarding School kids arrived, having spent the summer on beaches all over the world. Although official classes begin on Monday, many of us arrived a few days earlier to take care of our new rooms, organize our belongings, and psychologically prepare for the new academic year.
This is my final one. It's hard for me to think that next September, I'll be starting a real life outside of this boarding school. I didn't have a negative experience here. I met my best friends here, and plenty of people have came and gone. This place has always reminded me of home, and I'd be lying if I claimed I don't miss it. However, the thrill of a new chapter in life surpasses the nostalgia I already get when wandering these lengthy corridors.
As someone who has spent many years here and did not attend conventional school (except kindergarten), this feels like a long-term trip. Every now and again, you get the opportunity to return home, where your entire personality and existence exist.
It's funny how your life fits into three suitcases. It's also amusing when you have to decide between Manchester and Verona on vacation. Two rooms, two houses, and you never seem to make the proper decision. And I sort of think...
"Classes haven't even started yet, and you're already meticulously writing that diary..." I could always recognize her voice in a crowd.
Lucia, my best friend and roommate since day one, a girl with pink ombre hair, approached slowly towards me while carrying two enormous luggage.
if roman godfrey and rigel wilde had a child it would be marcus baker
