❝ Say that to my face, Kamui! ❞
rigelmerc replied to your post: “ so, what have i missed? “
i’m singlehandedly tearing this army apart
“ KAMUI. i leave you out of my sight for even a little bit, and you start a revolution. “
@rigelmerc || continued.
“O-oh... I see. Um...! Y-yes, thank you. I-I was a little scared to be sleeping out in the open like this... B-but thanks to you and Mister Leon, I felt very safe and so it was easy to fall asleep! S-so, um, you have my gratitude!”
The young cleric shuffles her feet, amber eyes darting downwards out of nervousness. Though Valbar’s company has been with them for at least a few days and they’d fought quite a few battles together by now, Genny can’t help feeling shy around them. She’s unused to such a rough-and-tumble bunch of mercenaries, having been surrounded by serene men and women of the cloth ever since she can remember. ... And then there was Mae. (Well, that’s not quite true. But she doesn’t care to remember the time before her arrival on Novis, for it had been very lonely and miserable.)
“...Um, Mister Kamui? I-if it’s okay, if you’re on watch again tonight... Um... M-may I sit with you for a little while? Y-you see, I’m writing a story about a band of mercenaries, a-and... Well... Um... I thought...”
She trails off, eyes now scrunching closed as she hugs her staff to herself. What a ridiculous request to make of a man she barely knows! As if Kamui would want some child bothering him and his friends while they talked!
“...I-if it’s any trouble to you, I understand! Please d-don’t feel obligated to humour me... I, um... I just thought some of your adventures would.. B-be good inspiration, is all...”
rigelmerc replied to your post: “…What are you even bickering over? It sounds...
conrad can’t take a little bit of teasing, that’s all
“Is it really worth carrying on like this, though...? You guys look like a fist fight’s going t-to break out at any moment.”
SOFT BROWN EYES, concealed by his own distinct mask, refused to remove themselves from the mercenary. Although his time openly among their army was short, already, the prince himself could see that his younger sibling had taken certain liberties in the company she kept around her. Over half of their campaign since leaving the southern islands was overcome with dealing with men ruled by mere monetary value — pirates, brigands, mercenaries, all were painted with the same coarse brush.
❛ I do not trust one such as you to serve my sister. ❜ Conrad states plainly, gilded arms crossed with an abrupt impertinence. He did not seek to judge based upon profession, walk of life, but the lifeline of their very world hung in the balance — for one burdened such as he, he could not afford to relax. ❛ Men who work for coin are only as reliable as the gold paying for their blade. ❜
@rigelmerc ♡ ‘d for a starter.
❛ i don’t really think i’m cut for the quiet life. ❜
“ what were you before - a shepherd? i truly do agree with you, you really don’t fit in with the common sort. “ leon’s hand curls at his jaw in a familiar gesture. the smile is playful, flirting on his lips as easily as the words dance on his tongue. the familiar sharpness of his words like arrowhead edges sings their cuts along familiar flung trajectories. “ i am glad that your circumstances brought you to where you are now, my friend. “
