High on Overthinking: Power of Misinterpretation and Right to Infinite Debate
Continuing from where I left off in my last post, here’s another thought. Even though humans invented/compose (can’t quite decide on the right word) various languages to communicate effectively, they had to devise a dictionary for meanings. The whole idea being that the right sentence conveying the right meaning should get out. Now, with the commercialization of news and TRPs taped onto their backs, even with the words there and dictionary there, we have lost our minds.
The right to speak and scientific temper has been blown to smithereens under the shroud of “freedom”. The information today is trimmed to fit the profit and attention and folks have taken a whole different meaning to the word “debate”. Now, debate is synonymous with what-so-ever I have to say I will say till the other person shuts up.
Now you ask why am I overthinking and overindulging in such things? I’ll tell you why. Recently, I had my tooth pulled out and was told not to open my mouth for some hours. I still tried to communicate with my family with signs and text etc. But those two hours taught me something; that speech is a gift. So every word out of your mouth should give some new positivity to the world, to guide others, to impart some knowledge, to ask the right questions, to answer with heart and soul and to change the world for the better.
