riley  should  have  been  more  than  used  to  this  by  now  .  the  flash ,  the  glam ,  the  kook  parties  just  for  the  sake  of  throwing  one  so  rich  people  could  pat  themselves  on  the  back  for  being  born  into  money .  it  wasn’t  all  that  bad  and  having  family  on  this  side  of  the  island  was  the  only  reason  the  shelbys   were  able  to  leave  their  father  in  the  wind  but ,  even  despite  all  that  and  the  time spent  here ,  sometimes ,  it  was still  to  rich  for  their  blood .  ‘  this  is  great  and  all ,  ‘  riley  hummed ,  ‘  but  i’m  gonna  head  out . ‘  the  beach  was  calling  their  name  and  with  the  time it  was ,  they  knew  it  would  be  more  or  less  empty .

    riley  wasn’t  sure  what  happened  after  they  were  put  into  the  car  .  they  must  have  blacked  out  again  and  they  weren’t  sure  for  how  long .  when  they  woke  up ,  they  groaned  again ,  blinking  their  eyes  a  few  times  to  adjust  to  the  light  only  to  realize  they  were  tied  to  a  chair .  they  looked  up ,  hearing  voices  from  their  parents  outside  the  room ,  arguing  over  the  fact  that  their  father  could  have  killed  them  with  the  car  accident  but  riley  didn’t  pay  much  mind  to  it  as  they  looked  around  the  room ,  their  eyes  falling  towards  their  brother . they  shifted  again ,  trying  to  scoot  the  chair  closer  to  him . ‘  josh  . ‘  @mvndkiller​

    ‘  shit  ,  shit ,  shit !  ‘ now wasn’t the best time for this although riley didn’t have much of a choice . they had a habit of pissing people off , especially their peers , but getting into a squabble at some high end catering gig wasn’t the best place for this to happen although it didn’t seem to matter . the moment riley’s eyes met with rafe’s , it seemed to be on although riley immediately took off in the other direction , not that it stopped rafe and his band of buddies from coming through the door anyway .

okay , so they were definitely getting fired but that wasn’t riley’s first thought as they ran through the room , managing to jump out of the way of another another caterer worker before continuing on their way , running down the hallway . ‘  excuse  me !  pardon  me , ‘ riley breathed , attempting to keep themself from knocking someone over .

being in hilo was supposed to be a short vacation . riley was supposed to go , conquer , and go back home but that didn’t turn out the way he thought it was going to because somewhere along the way , he met kauri and the rest was history . what was supposed to be a one night hook up turned into something that happened more often and before riley knew it , they were cancelling their ticket back home . they didn’t really talk about what they were but riley definitely spent a good amount of time with kauri versus with anyone or anywhere else .

riley groaned a little when he felt the bed shift but didn’t bother to lift his head or even open his eyes . ‘ go  back  to  sleep , ‘ he murmured , shifting to get more comfortable with no real intention of getting up unless he had to . @louwrvts​

"  just  because  the  car’s  a  piece  of  shit  doesn’t  mean  we  get  rid  of  said  piece  of  shit . “  riley  knew  that  a  lot  of  people  were  probably  surprised  when  it  came  to  figuring  out  who  their  father  was .  they  didn’t  have  the   same  grace  or  manners  and  while  riley  may  have  bee  a  pocket  full  of  sunshine ,  they  weren’t  as  put  together  as  the  therapist  known  as  his  father .  “  nothing  i  can’t  fix . “

"  i  mean ,  i  can  win  your  girl  a  prize  if  you’re  not  going  to .  “  riley  wasn’t  exactly  as  confrontational  as  their  twin .  hell ,  they  weren’t  as  violent  either  but  they  were  still  a  shelby  at  the  end  of  the  day  and  riley  could  only  do  so  much  turning  the  other  cheek  until  they  finally  bit  back .

riley  was  used  to  making  themself  comfortable  especially  when  it  came  to  josh’s  home .  they  had  swung  by  when  he  wasn’t  there  and  riley  made  themself  at  home ,  eventually  drifting  off  on  the  couch  before  hearing  the  phone  door  shut .  “  hey ,  “  they  hummed ,  rubbing  at  one  of  their  eyes  before  pushing  themself  up . @saintivcry​
