Why don’t these pebbles look like Adrian and Rocky? My headcanon is that eridian offspring gain their carapace characteristics from the environment, not their phenotype, and its principally from the minerals/metals where they’re living around/eating. Which is why engravings/names are more important identifiers for familial lineage than how they look.

One of Rocky and Adrian’s pebbles has a limb difference and wants to join their sibling in playing in the water.

Pebble hamster balls just sink in the water and roll on the beach floor, and while not immediately dangerous, there is a current-making machine deep in the beach they could get hurt by, and it’s harder to find them in water than on land due to sound dampening, so gotta keep a close ear on them, they’re not allowed to go that deep yet.
