they’d been leaving the hospital after his twelve week scan when it happened. a car racing around a corner out of nowhere in a hospital parking lot of all places. it had narrowly missed riley, hadn’t done much more than knocked him to the ground, and he couldn’t even recall what’d happened to samuel. all he had known was that there were people everywhere, using language he didn’t understand and his fiancé didn’t respond no matter how much he’d shouted his name. that had been three days ago and he didn’t think he’d left the hospital since. they’d insisted he get a check up just in case but of course he’d been fine, even if the stress definitely wasn’t good for him. however nothing was going to calm him until he knew that samuel was alright, which seemed like he wasn’t going to be after three days of unresponsiveness. riley wouldn’t give up though, he wanted to be by his side all the time and of course the one minute he’d stepped away the other male woke up, luckily with a doctor in the room. they wouldn’t let him in until they’d done all these tests and he was going mad because as much as he hated him sometimes, they were going to get married and have a baby and do better. when he was finally allowed into the room he’d probably been a bit too hasty, shoving right up to the side of his bed too look at samuel carefully. ‘ don’t scare me again like that ! ’ and maybe he shouldn’t shout at someone that had trauma to the head but at this point he couldn’t help himself.
