some recent comms! ♥
When Chromie had fully explained what being a “magical gal” entailed, and that usually most of them tend to have a well-meaning sidekick that sometimes bails them out in a pinch, I realized... that’s me! So naturally, I had my tuxedo cleaned and adjusted and decided to fit the part.
After all, if you can’t also be your lover’s best friend and special sidekick, what’s the point of your relationship?
((Art commissioned from the incredibly talented Iriadescence of Chromie in her Magical Gal Chromie outfit from the HotS spray, and Rilgon acting as her Tuxedo Mask, as it were. Iria’s website is available here and I would recommend anyone who wants great art to commission her - the process was painless and the results were amazing!))
Okay, so we know that all Overwatch content is just Heroes of the Storm content that you haven't stolen from Jeff yet. That much is clear. But what about Hearthstone content? Because I kinda have a burning need for that Gnomish Vampire card to be content in a good game. Maybe as a Chromie skin for Halloween? >_>

“The consort of Chronormu and the Huntmaster of the Unseen Path. An engineer and a leatherworker. A marksman and a tracker. The pride of the Alliance and the heart of the Horde. An ancient race from beyond the stars and the earliest known sentient life to have crawled from Azeroth's primordial heart.
The only way they could be more different is if one of them were somehow less blue. And somehow, they make a study in balance and harmony that the greatest Pandaren philosophers would marvel at.
She tempers his flame like refining a raw hide, redirecting his anger to where it is useful, or steering him towards understanding or simple dismissal where they are more appropriate than his legendary rage. He bolsters and scaffolds her passionate heart, laying down the steps and structures that channel her helpless fear and anger and love into workable action and movement forward.
They pull against each other, knit and purl, warp and weft, binary stars in gravitational lock-step. And so, rather than spinning off into chaos, their combined power forges on, a blazing light that all manner of enemies have come to fear. I have only witnessed both of their unbridled anger aimed in the same direction twice: against the Scourge, and now, the Legion. If our forces fail, and Azeroth falls, they will guarantee it the costliest victory Sargeras has ever known.”

He could not help it. He was staring. Even after a decade of their marriage, and a half year's dating before that, he still could not believe his good fortune and fate that he got to wake up in the same bed as Chronormu, the bronze dragon... Chromie, the gnome... Chromie, his lover. Even after all this time, he found her beauty enrapturing, and any time he awoke before her, he stole these small moments of bliss, his bronzeforged tattoos glowing softly out of joy.
The smile did not leave his face as her eyes fluttered open, and she began to process that he was, again, greeting her upon awakening with that sort of loving adoration that had never gone away after all their time together. Chuckling softly, she closed her eyes as she started their normal exchange. "You're staring again, Rilgie."
"And you're beautiful again, Chromie." He leaned forward slightly to give her forehead a gentle kiss, the note of reverence still in his voice. "To this day it astounds me that this is the fate that I get to live."
As she opened her eyes again and wiggled into his embrace, an exploratory finger tracing one of his softly glowing tattoos, her voice had a chuckle as the conversation continued as it usually did. "Still, after ten years? You took forever awfully literally, didn't you, Rilgie?"
He nodded. "Hard not to, darling - I believe everyone that was on the guest list has to look at 'forever' with a healthy respect." A troll, two draenei, and a handful of bronze dragons including the former Aspect of Time himself, it had been a small and intimate affair, but also one where near-agelessness seemed like a reservation requirement. "Besides, given the last few years..."
Her gentle tracing of his tattoos was what allowed her voice to remain soft, even though the fact that this was still his biggest fear was mildly annoying. "I meant forever when I said it, too, you know. War, old gods, diplomatic breakdowns, all that aside... I married you. Not some idealized version of you." Closing her eyes, she burrowed more tightly up to his chest, his soft breathing helping her to relax. "I told you... your kindness, your personality, everything about you... Just because you've hung up the bow and your pets other than Chronon have gone back home changes nothing about the person I love."
He sighed gently. She always had a way about soothing his nerves and admonishing his fears. "As always, you remain the wiser of the two of us." Placing another kiss atop her head, he smiled. "Should we see what today holds in store?"
"Not yet." Chromie's voice had an edge of an untold joke as she smirked, clinging to him. "It's only fair that I get to bask in my good fate, too."
People could say whatever they wanted about the engineering shop in Dalaran - it was noisy, the signage was a distraction, people didn’t trust the goblins that ran it to not blow a hole in the city’s floating landmass, whatever. If you were an engineer, however, it was the place to be - collaboration and debate was common, and more often than not, any non-engineer who entered could have their problems looked at by a half-dozen minds just as sharp as the primary proprietors, who were fine to let people do the work for them (as long as they got a cut for facility fees, supervision fees, a fee to assess the aforementioned fees...).
Lately, if he was not at the Caverns of Time or Wyrmrest Temple and was not on Argus itself, Rilgon Arcsinh found himself gravitating towards his fellow engineers; minds that, like him, found these low-key rumors of tension growing between the factions tiring. With so many things trying to kill and eat them all and so much knowledge and sweet explosive devices to be born from collaboration, most engineers found the faction war to be, at best, a vessel for profit, and at worst, a huge waste of everyone’s time.
And that is why he found himself at a table in the Dalaran engineer’s shop when a goblin walked through the door, looking like she had business.
