I just had a funny little thought: you remember back as recent as early January when Ashveil's silhouette was first teased and we weren't even sure if it was just Boothill with a different hat and later we thought that Ashy was a bit sus and you were ready to beat him senseless with rocks, wrenches, hammers and lastly a shovel to bury him with if he ended up being a traitor to the Galaxy Rangers?

And now? He's bae #2 and I wonder how quick, or slow, Faye is to warm up to the flashy detective in comparison after her initial gut feelings about his shadow wears off?

you must be a mind reader because i've actually been thinking and laughing about this too (ᵕ⸝⸝• ᴗ •) like i genuinely feel so bad for my initial reaction to him aaauughhh i'm so sorry wolfie !! but it is so crazy to me that i had little to no interest in him at the start and now... well !! i guess i'm just relieved that i got the wrong read on him, and that he's actually such a tragic sweetheart

faye's fear dissipated rather quickly because he's immediately apologetic after realizing that he accepted her handshake with his shadow hand, it's almost comedic how embarrassed he is to have made the mistake. her initial perception of him was entirely skewed by the shadow's influence since it's her first time encountering the voracity, but then it's completely flipped on its head when he apologizes to her profusely. he's bowing his head and doing that cute little nervous laugh, and he's got this hurt puppy look in his eyes. she gets a bit of whiplash from it all and is left utterly confused by the time they part ways. boothill will have to answer all her questions once they've returned to their lodging. when they do end up becoming partners, faye will be the one apologizing to ashveil

WHOA where did the speculation that Boothill's doctor might be Stoneheart Amber come from? I've never heard of that one, and it is wild to think he'd let someone from the IPC, especially someone so high up the ladder, have him in that vulnerable of a position.

i first saw it a looong while ago on reddit, but it's all just a fun speculation based on what very little info there was available at the time, so of course take it all with a massive grain of salt.

i'm also of the opinion that boothill wouldn't be very keen on letting his guard down around someone from the ipc. however, i do think we could argue that nobody from the ipc, aside from oswaldo and his subordinates, would even know who boothill is. especially when we take into consideration that records on aeragan-epharshel were wiped, and boothill would still appear as just a man, and is probably not wanted by the ipc just yet.

at this point, it is likely that boothill is believed to be dead by those who knew him, since none of them were aware that he was even aboard the ipc ship on the night of the bombing. he's a walking dead man, but they wouldn't know that. and that would be a massive advantage for him.

even the doctor's first words to him suggest that she has no idea what his true circumstances are and is making general guesses based on his outward appearance (a young man):

"This road doesn't suit you. Get out. Go find a job or... get an education... A young man like you deserves a better future. This road, on the other hand, belongs to those who have no other choice, people who can't start again anymore but still want to make evil pay..."

she doesn't know who he is or what he's been through. if she did, this would have been an incredibly insensitive and unreasonable thing to say to someone in his position.

it would also make sense, from boothill's perspective, to "go big or go home." he would likely want the absolute best that technology has to offer if he's going to be replacing most of his body, and who would have the funds and research to back that kind of technological feat if not the ipc?

anyways ! i recommend reading through the og post if you're interested because they cover a lot of ground that i'm missing in this response.

Hiya Rina!! I think you should play the game AI: The Somnium Files if you havent heard of it already its a sci-fi murder mystery in the visual novel genre. Basically you are cop/detective named Date who has a cyberntic eye named Aiba. Hes very silly and is similar to Ashveil :3c. He also had an adopted daughter named Mizuki (part of the story is trying to solve her parents' death). But there are many routes and endings :p

For content warnings idk specifics but there is a lot of violence and some body horror..

Overall its a really fun game and i think you would enjoy it!! <33
