I love Tolkien's books more than I love Peter Jackson's film adaptations.

But if it weren't for those adaptations, I never would have read the books to begin with. My dyslexic ass HATED reading for the longest time but when I picked up those books, I finished them in less than four months.

Without The Lord of The Rings movies, I never would have known Middle Earth long enough to fall in love with it. I never would have developed my love for reading.

I know a lot of us are unhappy with The Rings of Power series (myself included) but if we can at least be open to it, new fans will cross the bridge for us to welcome into the Fandom.

With The Amazon LOTR Series on The Way...

I just want to clarify something to my fellow fans.

I am not expecting to enjoy this show. I hope to be proven wrong (so badly, I just want it to be good dammit), but so far it doesn't look promising to me.

That being said, mine (or other's) dislike for this show does not give us the right to delegitimize anyone else's enjoyment (or vice versa).

If you end up loving the show, but I do not, both of us have the right to have our opinions validated.

Don't troll on LoTR fans just because they like the new Amazon series, and in turn, don't hate on people who dislike it.

I predict this show is going to turn out to be very controversial, so let's at least try to recognize that we are all on the same team.
