The sound of gentle sobbing is overpowered by something large and metallic being pushed over. Skin hits the floor as someone tries to crawl away from the source of the noise, their breath sharp and rapid. Senior Engineer Martin Van ("EMV") whispers into the audio device.
EMV: We found it. We- [cough] we found the fucking connection. All the [unintelligible due to static] anomalous properties. That's [unintelligible] stole it from us when we were this damn close and we had to pay–
Engineer Van is interrupted by loud sirens, and a door being kicked in. Security cameras outside the room confirmed this to be the on-site RIOT units ("RIOT") breaking into the room.
EMV: Helped design those assholes, too... [cough] all five of them are fucking freaks! That's the connection. That's how 2139 got out. That's why those asshats wanted to study 0127. They become freaks, and then they realise that there's a shit-load of 1s and 0s inside them they're telling them who [unintelligible] –atch where you put that fucking–

The engineer makes several strangled, choking sounds, before falling silent.

The automated message from the on-site RIOT unit is cut off as metal hits the floor once again.
UNKNOWN: [unintelligible] –caused this. And now I can think clearly, and every light that blinks out will be your fault.
