[text: Marius] Apologies, but I suspect this was meant for someone else.
[text: Marius] Although I must admit, I was rather curious about whatever it was Daniel had in that bag he was carrying earlier.
Giraffe AU: Everyone lives except for Marius
I literally cannot even believe what happened to Marius the Giraffe….

I'm really upset about the completely healthy, young giraffe that was euthanized in Copenhagen, dissected in front of a huge crowd, and then fed to lions. I've been thinking about it all day, and trying to see it from a scientific point of view, but I just don't see how that was the only way of dealing with the concern of inbreeding. Something else absolutely could have been done to avoid that. There were plenty of other options. And even if it wasn't avoidable, why couldn't that animal have been shown more respect? What did the general public and young children learn from that? I'm so disappointed in science today.
Poor Marius, he deserved life. It doesn't matter that he had the "same genes"as other giraffes, he was a giraffe aka a wild animal that will someday become extinct and now we're one more giraffe down towards that day. RIP Marius.
I'd hate to rant, but this is really important, this is disgusting. This WAS 2 year old Marius, a giraffe at the Copenhagen Zoo. Today he was publicly euthanized, dissected, and fed to lions in front of children. Why, You might ask? NO REASON AT ALL. Marius was a perfectly health baby giraffe. He was slaughtered because there was a SURPLUS of giraffes at the Copenhagen Zoo and they feared of inbreeding. THEY TURNED DOWN NUMEROUS OFFERS TO FOSTER MARIUS AND PEOPLE EVEN OFFERED TO BUY HIM. But clearly, murdering him in front of little kids was the only logical option of how to deal with their "giraffe surplus". Sign here http://www.yousign.org/en/copenhagen-zoo to try to shut down Copenhagen Zoo. Also try to trend #BoycottCopenhagenZoo and #RIPMarius on social media. I would include more picture of the event, but they are very graphic and overall horrible. I think this is an absolutely disgusting display of human filth. What if we started killing human babies because we have a surplus? COME ON PEOPLE ANIMALS ARENT OURS TO KILL AND ABUSE AS WE PLEASE.
