Today feels heavy. Rest easy.
TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE What is MY LIFE?? #RIPEVAN #1989tournashville @taylorswift (at Bridgestone Arena)
Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind. Or forgotten.
It really bothered me tonight when we played "It Is Well". Maybe not the song, but how Mr. G went about telling the backstory to this piece. He was mentioning James and all. At one point he mentioned that we lost 2 members of the band this year. That's it. That was all that was fucking mentioned of you. As if it was all okay. No it isn't. Evan is a real person. You made him sound like some sort of sick statistic. He's far from that. He has a story. People were (and still are) affected by Evan committing suicide.
But anyway, relating to this title, Mr. G kept mentioning how band is family. This quote is from the movie Lilo and Stitch, in case you haven't heard it before. Family means that no one gets left behind or forgotten. That's what we did. That's what he did. That's what I did. And I'm sorry for that. But we can't forget about our mistakes. We have to look at what we did, what we failed to do, and learn from them. People always say to forget about the past. I say screw them. Obviously we can't hover over the past and let us define our every waking move, but we certainly can't forget about it and pretend like nothing ever happened. Because something did happen. Something very serious.
