Oh I'm so very sad to learn of the passing of the FABULOUS Mirka Mora. She was 90 years young and a wonderfully creative artist who did painting, ceramics and even doll making! Mirka moved from Paris to Melbourne in 1951 and in 1954 opened a Cafe followed by 2 restaurants in St Kilda - one being Tolarnos where she painted all the walls with her incredible works. Her pieces are also featured at St Kilda pier and Flinders Street Station. I loved Mirka and this pic was taken in 2014 when she invited me to an exhibition she did. I met her because her grandchildren were at school with my kids and she did a semester if being an artist in residence with them. Mirka I LOVED your cheekiness and the twinkle in your eye! I'm so happy to have known you and spent time with you. Paint some rainbows in the sky with my Dad- he'll love you RIP MIRKA MORA 🎨🖌️🌈🖼️❤️🙏🏽 #mirkamora #ripmirkamora #friends #artist #melbourneicon #melbourne #wesleycollege
