            LEANING AGAINST THE counter in a leisurely manner, he took his time in letting his eyes wander over the brightly-lit menu, brows lifting every so often when he spotted something that captured his attention. he could do with some wonton soup... although, he wasn’t sure if his money would allow such a transaction. digits digging deep within his pockets, he pulled out a few coins, a rubber band, and a personal-made business card with his name in his familiar scrawl. expression immediately dropping, but then brightening slightly when he lifted his head up towards the cashier. 

                           ’   uhhh... ya got anything for a dollar?  ’

How is it that the universe kept finding a way to annoy him?

Loud classmates was no longer considered a hindrance by Soma as he had learned to live with that fact. But his own home? His safe haven from all the noise and blinding lights Brieve had to offer?

Unacceptable.

But then, what could he do? The construction wouldn’t have taken place if it wasn’t for his naggy neighbor demanding a massive renovation in return for the fist-sized hole he inflicted on their separating wall. It wasn’t that he had monetary problems to pay for the damage, but wasn’t his neighbor exaggerating?

Skimming through the bookshelves of Brieve’s Central Library, the dark-skinned male finds himself much more collected than his initial state upon witnessing the ruckus next door. ‘Might as well do some reading, anyway.’ he said to himself, reaching upon a particular book that piqued his interest. 

Unfortunately, his hand caught a slightly smaller one already latching itself onto the book. Electric-blue hues trailed the stretched arms to find a pink-haired girl, much shorter than he was, watching him with the same irritated look upon her features. There was a brief moment of silence exchanged between them, with Soma deciding to continue their glaring contest until the girl gives up.

It was Crona’s first time in a store like this, surrounded by all kinds of toys he had never once imagined could exist. To stand in the midst of all this... this stuff he’d never had the chance to play with before was rather overwhelming. He was caught almost wanting to ask someone for help to try and find his way through the maze of baubles and oddities that others seemed to find so amusing. Where was he supposed to start in sorting through these things for something he could play with? He’d never had a toy to himself before...

He blinked his gaze around the store in bewilderment, and soon enough someone sitting by the front desk caught his eye. Assuming she worked there, Crona timidly walked up to her desk, about to ask her a question to sort himself out when something startled him about her. He had never seen anyone like this before...

“H-hello ma’am, would it be alright to ask you if- oh...! Your hair... It looks almost like mine...!” If it was strange to make a comment like this, Crona was blissfully unaware, simply curious over someone with pink hair such as his. He thought he was the only one with an unusual color like this, and wondered if something was wrong with him. As he thought about how this could come to be, he didn’t realize he was probably staring at the poor girl in his astonishment.
