Meditation
Today someone I consider to be a long term soul sister reached out. She’s been embarking on an amazing spiritual journey, however even with all of her significant spiritual gains, she had some questions on how to Meditate effectively...which led me to this amazing post.
I AM NO GURU. I refuse to sit here, and pretend as if I have all the answers to the plaguing questions of life. I will not pretend to have some deep profound understanding of the universe, and its workings. I do however understand that the most high is in control, and through him all things are possible. So to answer the question “how do I meditate effectively?’ I pray. Before I attempt to enter the spiritual realm I ask the father to guide me, and trust me with his knowledge, I ask him to reveal the things he needs me to see so that I can become the true vessel that he needs me to be. I pray for the discipline to still my mind, and quiet her constant rambling. I PRAY against any negative energies, distractions or hinderances, I ask father to increase my knowledge and my inner-standing of his work. I then begin to monitor my breathing...meditation, like yoga, is all about the breathing technique. I attempt to quietly still my mind, and focus deeply on my breathing. “in through my nose, out through my mouth” I silently recite to myself while gently monitoring the thoughts that enter in and out. If miscellaneous thoughts arise I pray for yah to remove the distractions, and to strengthen my focus on his breath of life.
for me meditation is one of those things that I have to do. its like a direct line to connect with the most high, and to release the weight of the world each day. like anything else, its a skill, and takes practice to master. I’ve found myself in states where I feel like i’ve had outter body experiences, some people call it spirit surfing,or spirit realm travel. I’m not sure exactly what to deem it, but its real, and it feels amazing. The longer you allow yourself to focus your mind on the breath of life, the more beneficial meditation becomes.
practice practice practice makes perfect....
