Ritualisms serve the same functions within violent organized family/group systems. They commonly involve a leader, an audience of like-minded others, and their victim(s)—infants to adults. The use of ritualism serves to normalize all forms of sadistic family/group torture influencing and reinforcing groupthink, cohesiveness, and belongingness. Ritualisms helps shape perpetrator-victim relationships. Perpetrators assert domination over victims, overwhelming them with drugs and reality distortions using costumes, chants, darkness, terror, torture, and horrification pain; using omnipotent themes and roles, programming victims to fit into their victim role. -NST

abbie  was  a  nice  girl  ––  she  worked  hard  to  be  one  of  the  most  beloved  students  at  eden  high  ,  but  that  didn’t  mean  her  patience  didn’t  wear  thin  from  time  to  time  .  like  NOW  for  example  .  she’d  spent  countless  hours  almost  every  day  working  on  fresh  routines  for  the  cheerleaders  or  pushing  herself  to  new  limits  to  remain  in  top  shape  and  while  she  had  grown  used  to  the physical  stress  she  put  herself  through  ,  she  couldn’t  help  but  feel  DRAINED  .  today  she  stayed  after  school  to  practice  alone  in  the  gymnasium  ,  sweat  glistening  off  her  brow  and  soft  pink  cheer  bag  hanging  off  her  shoulder  once  the  routine  was  perfected  .  abigail  made  it  ten  yards  outside  of  the  gym  and  into  the  hallway  before  spotting  keller  near  the  auditorium  .  how  could  she  forget  auditions  for  the  spring  musical  ?  fuck  .  it  wasn’t  that  she  didn’t  like  keller  per  say  ,  because  she  didn’t  dislike  anyone  ,  but  sometimes  being  around  him  felt  more  draining  than  three  hours  of  cheer  practice  .  abigail  couldn’t  turn  around  and  walk  the  opposite  direction  now  ,  they’d  already  made  eye  contact  and  conversation  became  inevitable  .  “  hey  ,  how’s  it  goin’  ?  ”  hopefully  he  couldn’t  hear  the  underlying  tone  of  DREAD  in  her  voice  .

Yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking...and idk what it was touching or if it was in a big pile of dirty clothes...and also because not to be a jerk and stereotype or generalize, but for some reason I don’t trust my stuff from Las Vegas to be cleaner than stuff I buy in LA, because Las Vegas and also because who knows how many other tourists are weirdos like me and go thrifting, which means lots of hands...

The below is taken from tomorrow's inquisition reading, which I'll have you know is an entire book, titled The Cheese and the Worms: The Cosmos of a Sixteenth-Century Miller.
