ok ok i def agree about being annoyed about the push and pull state of their RL like one of these comments said they accelerated the RL ahead of the books so now when they're looking for tension to create it feels tiring & inconsistent. buuut the comforting situations are different gilbert misread anne being upset & he tried to lift her spirits w a joke bc it was a cake gone wrong, whereas gilbert had someone close to gravely ill when anne comforted him you know?
my problem is that as an audience we are missing huge chunks for their relationship (for e.g. friendship) because it is so accelerated. development is happening but in an inconsistent manner. i just want scenes where they are friends, and they are able to have meaningful conversations with each other and not the constant snipping. AB has mentioned that there is one scene where gilbert and anne have a meaningful conversation and its her favourite. so I guess we will have to wait and watch.
