Welcome to #rivafinolipassage In @thegolddistrict of @southendclt in @cltgov #charlottenc #history ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ In the late 1820's -1830's #count #chevalier #vincent de #rivafinoli would walk from his grand home through; roughly, this pathway and over to the Rudisill #goldmine. He would follow his #miners up S. Mint Street to our U.S. #mint (now the Mint Museum) and oversee the minting of #gold coins. The #goldrush began in #charlotte and not in #california. Count Rivafinoli was from #milan and leaving in #london at the time. He was an expert in mining and brought the latest in modern steam mining equipment to the #unitedstates. This helped spearhead the actual gold rush and allowed for larger excavations. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ #magnoliaemporium is honored to curate this important passage in history. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ We are working with the #charity #brandthemoth in creating #murals throughout the passage and allow this to be a destination to come and reflect on Charlotte's history and burgeoning #art culture. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (at Magnolia Emporium)
