Hello everyone! 

Though we never thought that we would have to say this, we have made the decision to close the rp. After months of trying to combat inactivity, and unfortunately as the two year anniversary of Rivals’ opening a little over a month away, the admin team has come to the conclusion that this is the right choice for the group. 

Last week we made the suggestion that if any members are interested in taking part in a discord server, we would happily open one. If anyone would like to stay in touch this way, please let us know! 

We hope to reopen Rivals if there is expressed interest in being active as a group again, but as of right now, there has not been enough reason to continue the rp as normal in the face of glaring issues. We understand that all members have been busy with school, work, and countless other real life priorities, and we obviously want those to come first before anything.

We will hold off on any events or long-term tasks a-la Idol Project for a while. You are, of course, still free to continue flashback and Vagabond threads. The Vagabond Blog will become an archive.

BREAKING: More KWorks Line Up Changes

It seems as though KWorks and MNet project groups have yet to catch a break.

Last December, Unity fans were shocked when member Kai pulled out of the group, returning home to Taipei, leaving eighth-place contestant Tomi to take her place. And again in June, Creed member Ren returned to Japan, prompting KWorks to replace him with season two’s eighth place trainee, Sang. KWorks and MNet caught a lot of heat after the second departure, with accusations being thrown at them that they didn’t treat their foreign idols properly-- claims that were denied. MNet sought legal action against netizens who were spreading the rumors.

The rumors are back in full force today, however-- while in New York, representative for 360 Studios announced that due to some serious health concerns, Idol Project 3 contestant Yena would not only be withdrawing from the rest of the tour, but possibly from DIVA as a whole.

“We don’t want to make any declarations-- the future is uncertain at this moment in time,” a 360 employee announced. “While Yena may very well recover quickly and be able to rejoin DIVA when the tour comes back to Seoul, we don’t want to make any promises we cannot keep.” No statements were made regarding what was actually wrong with the nineteen-year-old dancer.

Yena’s withdrawal had fans across the world wondering about the fate of DIVA, and MNet was quick to address those concerns. “DIVA is a project group-- much like Creed and Unity,” a producer for Idol Project explained. “Just like with our previous two project groups, we felt it right to offer the open spot to the next highest ranking female trainee of season 3.”

That trainee, as it turned out, was Kang Myungji, who turned them down-- DS Media officials stated that Myungji did not personally feel ready to debut in a group, and that the stress of learning their sets was too much for her, leaving KWorks to go to the next highest ranked trainee-- Kwon Dambi, also known as Bambi. The decision for her to take Yena’s spot confused a lot of netizens, as Bambi was famous on the show for refusing to perform genres and concepts she didn’t like.

“We have full confidence in Bambi’s ability to rise to this challenge,” a second 360 rep was quoted saying. “Bambi has grown and matured considerably since the wrapping of Idol Project, and is willing to step in for Yena. Kwon Dambi has considerable dance abilities and is a very strong performer, so we do not think she will have any problems catching up and learning Yena’s part.” They also stated that Bambi will be continuing in Yena’s position until/unless she feels well enough to return.

ok so a couple of things

first of all, i’m so sorry for being the worst and pushing the rivalstv stuff back. i swear up and down it will be out tomorrow. i finally have my head on straight and am ready to get shit done

bUT on another note, i had an idea for a really big event type thing, but i dont want to put work into it without knowing whether or not people would be down for it. so! would everyone be down with a really big, multiple-month long event that could potentially change the format/plot for a few months (not to drastically but in a kind of cool way that i think everyone would be excited for)? it’s hard to ask this without revealing what i’m thinking of but mostly i’m just asking if everyone is down for change-- temporary change but change all the same

Good morning everyone!

Recently there have been some problems and trends I have been noticing regarding activity and I would like to address them. While I increased the activity limit a while back-- and that, in general, was a good idea-- it seems to me that people have been starting to abuse it.

Even with a bigger activity limit, you need to be active. Posting one reply every month is not activity. Going on hiatus and disappearing for longer than you told us you would be gone, only to do one or two replies is not activity. If you need a hiatus, by all means, let us know, but you need to give the admins an end date, and you need to be aware that if you go over that end date, we will unfollow you.

If you don’t have more than one or two replies in your activity, answer starters. Make starters for other people-- if you scroll down the dash, you will see plenty of examples of people starting threads off the cuff to get activity up. I promise you, no one will mind being tagged in starters.

I will be messaging people who’s activity has been concerning me, but at the end of the day, you are FC hoarding. You are holding on to FCs and positions that other people could be using and enjoying while you disappear for months on end only to come back and do one reply, and that is not okay. 

The admin team will start unfollowing people who show a trend of doing this.

In light of some recent departures from the group, I will be switching some unfollowed characters into NPCs. If you would like to know my reasoning behind doing this, please message the main. I recognize that many people think I play favorites within the group, and while that is false, I do not feel the need to explain myself at length on the dash, so if you are curious and would like to know more, please message me directly. 

We are currently rebuilding/updating the main, so if it looks a little messy for a while, that is why

an update:

at the beginning of november, we upped the activity limit to a month, and while that was a good choice (in my opinion) and has been working well, i need to stress something i put in the original post.

“that being said, while you have more time, the activity limit will be more rigid. in the past, we have give some people about to be unfollowed a couple days to get on their shit before posting it so they could save themselves, and there have been characters unfollowed that have been re-followed at the next acceptance. this will no longer be happening. if you need a hiatus or semi-hiatus, you need to make the main aware so we can mark that down accordingly, and if you aren’t on one, there is no reason you cannot get on at least once a month. furthermore, we ask that you check the main and the admin tags a lot more regularly if you aren’t on often, just so you can stay updated and in the loop. “

if you cannot get on your characters at least once a month, then perhaps you should go on hiatus. or perhaps you should not have those characters. i don’t mean to be blunt, but the activity limit is by far one of the longest ones i’ve ever seen, with most roleplays giving you 3 or 4 days max.

furthermore, while i usually do warn you all before i do a check, i am not required to do that. it is your responsibility to stay within the limit. it is a month. you should be able to do that without prompting, and if you can’t, then perhaps an hiatus is best for you.
