RIVER C. CASTILLO
THIRTY-TWO. NON-BINARY. THEY/THEM. FIREFIGHTER.
[ ᴡʀɪᴛᴛᴇɴ ᴀᴇsᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄs ] — the first bit of warmth as the sun peeks over the mountain. a sense of cold comfort when meeting a stranger for the first time. hot buttered rum. toasted coconut. an old pair of broken in duck boots. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴs ] — * - River moved to North Roxton from southern Louisiana (been here for six years). They’re a southern gem at heart. Warm. Receptive. The only problem is that they’ve been wronged too many times in the past. Not quite to divulge personal information- it takes them a little while to trust new people, though you would never know it. * - A foster child. They grew up in a house with seven other brothers and sisters- none of them related to them by blood. That never mattered. They grew up close (save for one or two, who always remained distant). River is the oldest, and has never taken that responsibility lightly. *- Has worked hard not to struggle with not knowing they’re ‘real family’. Instead, they focuses on building themselves into the person they wants to be. As soon as they were old enough, they started firefighter training. Most of they’re work had been volunteer- until they found a permanent position in the firehouse in North Roxton.
So River is a great person, really. They’re outgoing, friendly, warm. They haven’t openly accepted many close friends in their life, as they tend to play their cards very close to their chest. Apprehensive as far as relationships go- they remain close with a few of their siblings but for the most part keep to themselves. Long, labor filled hours at the firehouse keep them busy... Though they’re not completely without social etiquette.
