Spring is now well underway and yesterday (19.4) walking through the park and looking up at the leaves coming out on the trees, I could really feel it:)

Over and under the bridges

All of these were seen on a walk along the River Chew as it flows through our local park. These were seen on a Sunday afternoon walk taken in a bid to fend off anxiety about what's coming my way this week. It would have helped if the weather had been a bit brighter but, it's the end of October so, I should be grateful that the worst of the rain held off…

A Solstice walk along the river:)

I'm recovering from a fall that landed me in the A&E at RUH Bath just over three weeks ago so, I'm still a bit limited when it comes to how far I can comfortably walk. With yesterday being the Winter Solstice, we felt we had to get out and do something so, a walk it was. We followed the River Chew as it flows through my local park which is just a few minutes walk away. We're so incredibly fortunate to have this on our doorstep. Even though the weather was overcast, it still felt good to be out:)

A winter walk along the river

This was the first time out this year doing any photography. I was using my smartphone to shoot these - giving it another chance if you like… I have to admit that overall, I'm pretty pleased with the results this time around.

Although I've been living in Keynsham for three and a half years, I still can't believe that I have this pretty much on my doorstep:)

Down by the weir

A short walk down to the weir yielded these images on a somewhat overcast December afternoon. These were all shot on my smartphone. An injury to my left hand means I won't be picking up the Sony Cybershot for at least another four weeks. So, for the first time ever, I'm obliged to treat my phone as a 'serious' camera. Let's see how this goes…

The valley…

Scenes from the valley of the River Chew, just to the south of Keynsham. Taken on a warm, sultry afternoon when the sky was somewhat hazy. I'm getting out as often as possible to make the most of the fag end of summer before the season turns, and autumn is upon us…
