Tiffany felt as though her job here was done. Besides it was too hard for her to stay in the same house that she lost her beloved wife of many many years.
Her children had been pushing for her to move to an ‘old person home’ for a bit anyway and she felt like there was no time like the present.
Tiffany finished packing her things later that week and set off to spare island. Her trip would be long, almost a week of traveling but that was the nearest island and where her daughter lived. She hoped she liked it there. She was going to miss her remote island with only her family and the sea but this was what was best for her.
Just as she got out the door, what she thought was unnoticed, her grandson came running out.
River: You were just gonna leave without so much a goodbye?
Tiffany looks at her grandson with so much love, or at least as much love as she had left in her heart. She really felt like when Sun died a huge part of her did as well.
Tiffany: No baby. I was just going to put my things in the car and come back for hugs.
Both River and TIffany knew she was lying but at that moment it didn’t matter. River could tell a difference in his grandma after his nana died and it hurt him to see her like this. It also hurt him to know he wouldn’t ever see her again. He would get to talk to her on the phone but otherwise the journey would be too long for either of them to take. Besides, it was a tradition in the family to not leave the island unless you were finding love, unless of course you were leaving for good.
Tiffany pulled her grandson into a tight hug before leaving in the cab to the port. She would be greatly missed and RIver just hoped she found true happiness on Spare Island.
