I wonder where will today lead?
I’d rather be on the trail...
Hey
So the river trail in my hometown has some tile statues around, and no rails or fences around them.
So what else is one to do but knit scarves for them?
BEHOLD!
1976: KISS Plays A Junior High School
In the spring of 1976, Mars Candy held a contest to promote their new Marathon Bar. The contestants were individual schools in the Midwest. The goal of the contest was to submit as many index cards with the words "Mars Bar," "Snickers," or "Marathon Bar" on them. The school with the most entries would win its own personal KISS concert.
Surprisingly, the contest was won by a small junior high school in a northwest suburb of Chicago. River Trails Junior High in Mount Prospect had requested each student submit a minimum of 3000 cards. Students who submitted over 10,000 would have a chance to meet the band. KISS performed the show in front of approximately 350 twelve and thirteen-year-old students.
Unlike two other high school shows played in the area earlier in KISS' career, this was a private show, and therefore very few details exist about the show.
KISS used their full ALIVE! stage and pyro
The roadies played softball with a gym class earlier in the day
The school required all students to wear cotton in their ears at the show
