Hi Friends, This is a video presentation on the origin of Cauvery river. The Cauvery River is the fourth largest river in the Indian subcontinent. It originates in Kodagu, Karnataka and flows east through Tamil Nadu before merging with the Bay of Bengal. It's original name is Ganges but because of its red colour it was called as 'kari' which in tamil means red.

The Cauvery originates at the confluence of the Bhavani, the Kabini and the Hemavathi rivers south of Kodagu, at Takkella in Mandya district of Karnataka.
