Built in 1939 by Raymond and Ellen Gordon, the Spanish Courts was a quaint mom-and-pop motel, surrounded by lush, tropical plants. It consisted of multiple stucco cottages, decorated with red-tile roofs and wrought-iron gates. The Courts thrived for decades, survived a fire in the 1960′s and multiple changes in ownership before eventually closing.
By the late 2010′s, it was boarded up and demolished. The only remainder of the Courts is a wall, located on the edge of the property (shown in the last screen shot). It has since been painted over. Located in Riviera Beach, Florida. More information here.
The Gordon’s were also owners of the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire, featured in a previous post. The resort is very much alive and worth a visit if you’re ever in NH!
