STAR WARS - ANDOR SEASON ONE - SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 - YOU TUBE VIDEO: RIX ROAD FUNERAL MARCH
From November 24, 2022.
"There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they've already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this: the Imperial need for control is desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.
Remember this. Try."
See, I love this. It's powerful and holds a lot of truth. But I can't ignore where I heard this. I can't ignore that this comes from Disney in the end. That Disney feels safe enough, powerful enough to put this out there and not fear how people might apply it to them.
Take a look inside the creation of the final episode of Andor season 1, Rix Road.
Vanity Fair take a closer look at the making of the 12th and final episode of the debut season of Andor, Rix Road, an episode that not only stamped its indelible mark on the entire saga but also rightly earned the show many of its Emmy nominations. The Force was not part of the story on Andor, the Emmy-nominated Star Wars series that focuses more on the everyday world of Rebel spies and Imperial apparatchiks rather than the mystical realm of the Jedi and Sith. Nonetheless, something magical took over as the narrative moved from script to stage to screen. Showrunner Tony Gilroy discovered that himself when he watched a scene from the final, perfect episode, in which a funeral brick made out of the remains of a deceased Rebel believer becomes a weapon that is literally used to smash the Empire.
