About Hong:
She pursues an extensive and active musical career in North America and Europe that includes concert performances, master classes, and lectures. She has been invited to perform at La fête de la Pentecôte de Meaux, France; St. Paul Cathedral, Los Angeles, California (inaugural organ recital); and the annual meeting of the American Bach Society, where she played the complete “Art of the Fugue". She was one of three organists to participate in touring performances of the complete organ works of Maurice Duruflé commemorating the hundredth anniversary of his birth, including performances at Stanford University Memorial Church.
As a specialist in early Spanish and French organ music, Riyehee Hong has been invited to lecture at Bordeaux University III in Bordeaux, France, Florida International University in Miami, the Houston and South Jersey Chapters of the American Guild of Organists, the Historical Keyboard Society of North America, and the Westfield Center Conference in Houston. She has published on French Post-Classical organ music in Cahiers d’Artes consacré à Dom François Bedos de Celles, Bordeaux, France, and her study and edition of a hitherto unattributed 18th-century French organ manuscript has been accepted for publication by Wayne Leupold Editions.
As a chamber musician on both organ and harpsichord, Riyehee Hong has founded and directed ensembles dedicated to 17th- and 18th-century repertoire, giving first performances of newly discovered works. She has transcribed several violin concertos for organ and violin, participating as organist in performances of those works.
Living in Spain, she has been played important places such as El escorial, Catedral de Madrid, Capilla Real de Madrid, Basilica San Francisco del Grande, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Catedral de Murcia, University of Compostela, etc.
