Regret Nothing, Regret Everything || Self Para
It wasn't often that Hunter would admit that he was wrong in doing something. Not because he always has good judgment, but because he's very prideful. However, he knew he had to lose his pride the second that he heard his name thundered from none other than Derek Reynolds himself. He didn't even have to look to know that it was him. After all, he knew something like this would happen since the day that he thought it'd be a good idea to make out with Scarlett.
Hunter walked down the steps of the diner, shoulders high and not showing any fear. He already knew what was coming to him. The beast that had now replaced Reynolds gave it away that he wasn't here to talk. "Look man -" he began to say, wanting to at least reason with the man, but before he could get any further, he saw a fist flying towards his face. Instinctively, he moved back but he wasn't quick enough because one minute he was okay, the next he almost lost his balance when Derek jabbed him in the jaw.
He regained his balance, cupped his jaw and back away from Derek. The last thing he wanted to do was fight a heavyweight boxer. It wasn't anywhere near his bucket list. "Look man, can't we just talk about this?" he said, even though it was a completely stupid.
"YOU MADE OUT WITH MY FUCKIN' GIRLFRIEND!" Derek yelled at him as he stalked closer to him. Hunter kept walking back. Fear clouded his eyes when his back hit the cold wall of the diner. The last thing he remembers seeing was Derek's smug smirk. The next thing that followed were his fists.
All that Hunter could do was groan in pain as Derek started beating him. He tried to fight off the much larger man back, but the boxer was so quick with each blow. There wasn't much that Hunter could do to beat him. As much as he knew how to fight, he wasn't trained to fight off a professional boxer. Hunter could already taste the blood in his mouth. His head felt heavy and he could barely see out of his right eye.
It felt like ages past by him as Reynolds kept hitting him mercilessly. There was no saving him. Or so he thought. A couple of men ran to his salvation and tried to pull Derek off of him.
"Get off of me! Get the fuck off of me!" he said trying to get out of their hold. But it was three against one. As strong and big as he was, he couldn't with all of them so instead what he did was that he stopped hitting Hunter and started pushing the other men off of him.
Hunter took this as he cue to get away. Clutching his sides and groaning he started limping away, glad that someone came to him and tried to help him. "Thank you. Seriously, thank you." he told her, then groaned again when he felt the pain everywhere. "Think you can drive me to the hospital?" he asked, trying to give her a smile but his face hurt.
"Come back here, you fucking coward!" Derek was about to walk towards them when the men pulled him back again. "Get off of me -" he tried to break out of their hold, but quit trying when he heard Rick's voice and the gun pointed at him.
"No! Don't hurt him. It's my fault. It's all my fault." Hunter said, trying to walk over to Rick. He looked back to Derek and was glad that the man stopped fighting and surrendered to the police. A huge sigh left his lips and he leaned against his car. What a fucking day, he thought to himself.
"Come on. Let's get you to the hospital." the brunette that helped him said, breaking him out of his thoughts. Nodding his head, he took once last look as they shoved Derek into the police car, then followed the girl.
