I’m beside myself. My girls from RissaGoosman and RoadkillJack arrived on the same day! I’ve been getting to know them ever since. This couldn’t have happened at a better time. I really really needed the presence of these girls in my life. Thank you so much, you guys.

On the left is Little Miss Jack, found dead in an Ohio forest by Rissa. To the right is Ellie, found as roadkill with a broken neck south of Memphis by Jack. The bottom photo is of a Wildwood Tarot card and three totems; a desert rose (selenite) representing Mind, a coyote vertebra representing Body, and a pawprint stone (quartz perhaps?) representing Spirit. I have an extensive coyote altar and will be doing a lot of rearranging to make these girls feel right at home.

My bf and I worked on a ton of critters this week and I’m just getting time to upload some of the the process pictures (gore/dead animal warning under the cut).

This week was wayyyy too short and I only wish we had more time to work on dead things together ;n;...

This was a little roadkill cat that was found a few months back. Jack skinned her out and is keeping her pelt. I’ll be cleaning up her skeleton and articulating her ;3;

Stubby-tailed opossum that was buried deeeepppp in my freezer. Found him and skinned him out while we pulled out the other big animals we planned to work on.

And though there aren’t an pics for these we also carved down Dogmeat’s carcass, de-shelled an armadillo, fleshed and salted my baby goat, and skinned a squirrel c:

A convo with my professor:

“My boyfriend gave me dermestids for Valentine’s Day and that’s how I cleaned this skeleton.”

“OMG my heart just skipped a beat. That’s so perfect. It’s really awesome when you find someone that’s just as passionate as you are about stuff. I can’t believe this. You two should totally stay together.”

Cute VC couple moments like calling your bf while you’re both shopping and being like ‘shit i need peroxide’ and ‘fuck you remind me I need alcohol’ and ‘people are staring at me cause I’m talking about animal brains’ over the phone :x

Jack & Jackal’s vulture party part one! We stayed up till 5am fleshing and salting rabbit hides and have turned my broom closet into a vulture closet. That’s 6 animals down and 35 to go 8))) (helpus)
