Roane shedding its skin.
There was a beat of silence, the Roane watching him with those dark eyes before it dragged itself further out of the water with its fore flippers. Slapping lightly at the wet sand before stopping near Croi's feet. Croi had read up on the Roane, and he had seen it play through the water but seeing it shed its skin was an entirely different thing. It was magic in its own way, not the way you would expect to see it happen. It wasn't flawless or a simple movement to be from one form to the next and if Croi had been of any other court, he might have been worried or disgusted. He wasn't though, he was Unseelie and blood and violence ran through him just as easily as the night did. So he watched, fascination as the sound of ripping flesh broke the silence of the night. It was as if an invisible knife had cut from the tip of his head and down along its back towards the rear flippers in one clear motion and there was one tiny moment before the cut was registered. You could see the edges of the wound peel back from each other briefly before blood poured over and out along the side. Staining it dark red. It poured off like water and the seal skin slid down and collapsed on the ground, leaving a very tall and very naked man to shake off the watery blood and get to his feet. Finding his balance before pushing his hair back out of his face.
He was dark colored but not like Gwyn, more like if Croi had spent hours out in the sun. Just a regular tan, but of a color mundanes would thrive for but could never achieve. His hair fell in waves past his shoulders, damp from shedding his skin and was what left of the blood drying it in. It was the color of his seal skin, a darker brown with grey blended into it. The only difference from his seal form to his more human one, other than being a very gorgeous and naked man in front of Croi, was his eyes. They weren't the black he had seen before but instead more golden brown. It was like watching the sun through a shard of glass.
