Out urban “tramping” on Basque Park when I remembered a recommendation by Jacqui @good_day_cafe to visit Coffee Pen. She said they’re the best and I was suitably impressed by the great use of a restricted place. Owners Yas & Fumi greet you like old friends and everything is house-made. My eyes always light up when I see halloumi and I had no hesitation in choosing the roasted pepper & haloumi on rice sourdough sandwich. The flavours were finely balanced. Next time I will tramp at lunchtime so I can have one of the 2 choices of cooked dishes by Fumi.
