Hey, just wondering if you could explain what a mischief founding member is? (As in- why is Bryony a founding member but not an original play that goes wrong cast)? Thanks :)
Hi! My best guess for who counts as a Mischief founding member is anyone who is still around from Mischief's early days at LAMDA. But let's us try to figure out who classifies as a founding member, using the team page from Mischief's website as reference (note that the website could be inaccurate):
So the actual original founding members of Mischief are Henry Lewis, Dave Hearn, Harry Kershaw, Josh Elliott, and Mike Bodie. They are the ones who founded The Scat Pack (Mischief's name back in the day) Eventually, people will join and leave the group so by the time The Play That Goes Wrong reaches the West End the original cast consists of Henry Lewis, Dave Hearn, Jonathan Sayer, Henry Shields, Nancy Zamit, Charlie Russell, Greg Tannahill, and Rob Falconer. That leaves Bryony Corrigan and Niall Ransome who both joined Mischief at the same time during the early days, which I'm guessing is why they have founding members titles. And Bry of course will go on to originate the role of Vanessa which also could be why she is considered a founding member. Currently, I believe that the core Mischief team consists of Jonathan Sayer (Creative Director) , Henry Lewis (Artistic Director), Henry Shields (Creative Associate), Charlie Russell (Creative Associate), and Nancy Zamit (Creative Associate). I believe Dave and Bry were both considered creative associates and part of the core team back during tgws, but they may have stepped down since they've been working on other projects since then.
