Maddie came out soooo pretty 🥰 I spent so much time on her face, these screenshots don’t really make her justice but I don’t know how to take better ones 😩

Robb doesn’t look 100% right without his luscious lashes, might Mod him up later 🤔 Also he gets to transform again in this house ‘cause King deserves 🧜‍♂👑

So Robb’s tribe can change sex when needed and Robb transitioned from female to male. Love it. Love everything about it.

Robb just gets more and more interesting with every revelation.

Not a big fan of the whole “if you stay on land, you lose the ability to change into a siren” thing, tho.

I get that it’s done for tension and conflict for Ryn but it’s a hard pass for me.

I always hate the “magical creature becomes human” trope. Especially when it’s for romantic love. I’mma need them to not make Ryn’s series end game her becoming human. Ugh.

You guys don’t understand...I legit HATE that trope so much.

I hate the implication that happiness/love can only be found when you sacrifice an essential part of you and your culture and conform to someone else’s. I hate the idea that becoming human is the only path to fulfillment or completion for a magical creature/alien, etc. If a different intelligent and sapient species exists then it is just as worthy a goal to embrace that existence over being human. Humanity is not the end all, be all.

Anyway...whatever. Rant over.

Fingers crossed that they find a way for Robb to be able to transform again. If he survives the season, maybe that can be his character arc.

Siren trying to make me like Robb by making him trans is like Supergirl trying to redeem Mon-El. I hate Ben and Ryn alone, they lack chemistry and are boring alone. Ryn was visibly hurt my Maddie choosing Robb over her and it just makes it more and more like Maddie and Ryn aren’t going to be together when she says things like she’s ”special” to her rather than that she’s in love with her and they kiss on the cheek rather than the lips. I’m hoping it’s a long fake out like Maddie dying last season but I just feel like I can’t even be happy Robb is gone because they focused on Ben and Ryn holding hands talking about a vacation while Maddie sat alone and it felt so foreshadowing. Like Robb will be back and it’s all over. The show was built on one thing that really made it unique and attacked viewers and I hate that it’s changing for whatever reason, be it studio heads or ratings cause it’s not conventional enough for people.

Sadness over my ship aside, I am always happy to see them bring Sarge and Donna back and they died prematurely and I love them. I love how Eliza stands guard Helen and runs to her when she screams and just love Eliza in general and I hope her and Rick can reunite soon.I also think it’s really cool how they added to the lore again, with mermaids being able to change gender. It’s lowkey progressive and shows that just like detail goes into the tribes looking different, the people really do scientific research on animals and aquatic creatures to mix into the show because it educates people a little and sparks interest and as someone who has always loved the ocean and it’s many mysteries and science it’s so fun for me. 

I could say a lot about Ryn answering the door naked and worrying about Ben and enjoying that moment with him but we always knew she was sweet so that doesn’t need saying.

What does is that we were #blessed with Maddie in a towel. Highlight of the episode without a shadow of a doubt.
