Your Fave Is Catholic: Caterina Scorsone
Known for: Canadian actress, she is best known for her work on television, primarily for playing Amelia Shepherd in both Private Practice & Grey’s Anatomy. She started her career at a young age, doing regular television projects whenever she could. She continued acting in television & even doing some film & television films, but after graduating from Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, her career truly began. Her other works for television include Mr. Dressup, Ready or Not, Flash Forward, Goosebumps, Power Play, The Associates, 1-800-Missing, & Crash. Her film & television film projects include Shock Treatment, The Hairy Bird, Teen Knight, The Devil’s Arithmetic, Rated X, Common Ground, My Horrible Year, Alice, Edge of Darkness, & The November Man. She is also the wife of The Rescues member Robert Giles, & they have two children together, with a third one on the way. One of their daughters, Paloma, has Down Syndrome, & because of it she has become an advocate in helping people with Down Syndrome.
Evidence of Faith: According to an old cast biography from Sony Pictures to promote the project Missing, it states that Caterina is Catholic, & that as a child one of her career aspirations was to be a nun, among other choices. Also, her Twitter feed occasionally expresses her Catholic faith, especially with regards to praising Pope Francis & his work. One such tweet seen here shows her praising Pope Francis for his compassion towards the LGBT Community, & another such tweet shown here shows her praising his message of loving one another like Jesus did. Lastly, there’s also evidence from Tumblr user @propitlikeithot, who told me that she & Caterina attend the same Catholic church in Los Angeles. When I asked what she was like in order to further validate this, @propitlikeithot explained that she was very nice to her, which is great to hear!
