2014 Robert Sinskey Vineyards Late Harvest Pinot Gris
Hope you all had a romantical V-Day! Finishing out the week strong with one of my faves. Honeysuckle, white and yellow flowers, golden apples, spaetzle, white nuts, and ripe pears on the nose. Sweet apple and pear on the palate with yellow flowers, marzipan, and macaron cookie shells. Just lovely stuff from a great producer.

Rawr. It’s Fri-yay!! Celebrating with one of my perennial faves. White and yellow flowers, apples, pears, underripe tropical fruit, a hint of lychee, and key lime on the nose. Lemon and key lime on the palate with underripe pineapple, pear, chamomile, and ginger. This is just great stuff and it’s organic!

2012 Robert Sinskey Vineyards POV
I love Sinskey wines. I think you know that. This one is really lovely. Cassis, blackberry, and fresh leather notes on the nose along with eucalyptus, mint, cedar, and green tobacco. Ripe on the palate but with lovely acidity. Cassis and blackberries accompanied by green tobacco and fresh leather. Mint and cedar on the finish.

Robert Sinskey, Napa, California If you’ve read some of the posts below, you’d know I am a huge vinophile and love to visit wineries all over the world! While I am often cynical of Napa wineries and much prefer those in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties, RSV is one of my favorite wineries. Anyone can walk in and do a standard tasting, but lots of folks like to reserve special ones. I went a couple of week ago, but last year my partner arranged for me to tour their wines caves and the space is just fantastic! Additionally, they are producers of amazing wine-- I’ve never had a bad glass of wine from Sinskey. Make sure to stop by the next time you’re on the Silverado Trail!
You’ve finished a bottle of champagne and there’s a glass or two of Cabernet Franc open and threatening to go bad on you… do you get a new glass because red wine? You don’t have guests… it’s just you and the lovely Cab Franc… do it.

2013 – A Year in Wine
2013 was an amazing year, leaving lots for which to be grateful in its wake. A number of winemakers came to town for luncheons including Katharina Prum of J.J. Prum, Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan Patterson of Scarpetta, and Robert Sinskey and Steve Matthiasson; and Ana Cabestrero of El Maestro Sierra, led a sherry seminar in Studio 206, titled, Running the Scales. ’09 Robert Sinskey ‘POV’, Napa Valley, Red Blend – This is one of those nouveau blends that likes to hide what’s in it…which actually makes it fun trying to figure out. It’s an overall good wine that’s very approachable, fruit-forward, and fun to sip on its own. A crowd pleaser for any level of wine drinker.
