‘Inheritance’ MrblHrnts/CrpyPsta & Platonic Fem! Reader (AU 2)
CreepyPasta/MarbleHornets Masterlist
Summary: Reader loves the color pink and her family is a blood magic practicing cult for Slenderman/The Operator. (Y/n) has two different brothers, therefore they will be referred to as '(B/1)' as the 1st/eldest brother and '(B/2)' as the second brother. If you ever notice that I've written an actual name for them please forgive me and lmk as well as the section it's in, because I have my own personal names for (Y/n)'s family and may have gotten carried away while writing.
Themes: Death, Cults, Witchcraft
Authors Note: This AU was inspired by the Malfoy family/Death Eaters from Harry Potter, especially the Readers family & specifically their family's wardrobe ;) This is also an AU that’s not for sure set to have continuing parts, I only ever explore differing concepts and character archetypes and am an inconsistent writer, but hey, I like to enjoy things as much as I can so feel free to tag along while it lasts, shortly or a little longer than that :).

Cold. (Y/n) couldn’t remember much from her time in the morgue but she could remember the empty void of death and a freezing temperature that delayed the decay of her flesh. Tonight she dreamt of laying on her back, her bare body pressed onto a long sheet of steel. The world closed in on her like a steel coffin, as a thin sheet of fabric had been draped over her stiff figure.
She opened her eyes to find herself back in the cabin. Kate had originally offered her bed to (Y/n), and although she slept on the furniture with her feet against the headboard and head where her feet should’ve been, in all ways out of place in the foreign environment, tonight she begged Kate to switch places. For some reason the floor felt more comfortable than the warmth of someone else’s personal space. The hard planks felt less suffocating, she found it easier to curl into the provided blanket, her head laid on a single pillow. There she laid between Kate and Toby’s bed, where both adults remained sound asleep in the early morning hours. (Y/n) switched between staring into the darkness of the small room and shutting her eyes, but her body seemed fully rested. Her eyes scanned the digital clock on the nightstand between the beds, it read 5:34 AM. Without making a sound, she lifted herself off the cold floor, felt her way through the pitch black and found her way into the quiet hall. Everything was so still when the cabin slept, unlike Slenderman's world of endless bedrooms and hallways. There was always someone wandering at any hour.
Brian didn’t let anyone wear their shoes inside, their jobs were messy enough, there was no need to track any of it in the place they called home. With barely a creak at its hinges, (Y/n) slipped past the front door, where the porch had been illuminated by a light beside the door frame, the lamp shade cloudy and worn from age with a cobweb and dead mosquitoes attached to it. She had found her pair of shoes between Tim and Kate's boots, smoothly slipping them on her feet before heading down the old, wooden steps that announced her descent to the vast woods that surrounded them. Soon the sun would rise and there would be no need for a flashlight, and (Y/n) could say that she was decently familiar with the environment; so she strode into the trees with no hesitation, leaving the safety of her friends’ cabin behind her. The woods weren’t too quiet, there was the sound of the draft, trees rustling and bugs humming every once in a while. It was lonely, yes, yet still more relaxing than it wasn’t. She thought the others wouldn’t mind if she’d gone out for a stroll, she didn’t plan on running away, or being gone longer than an hour. Matter of fact, she’d gone out by herself several times without their knowledge, and she didn’t see them as the oblivious type, so if they did know she was gone, they were okay with it. She knew they’d tell her to stop if they believed it to be best for her safety. Although today, they didn’t have to worry about her being alone, because half way through her walk she’d bumped into Natalie. A woman with the clock from a watch in her left eye and a box of junk in her arms.
“Tim requested some supplies for the truck, I only have time for today to drop it off,” Oulette said as the two fell into rhythm beside each other,”What brought you out here at this time?”
“Just going on a walk,” (Y/n) vaguely answered,”But I was getting lonely anyway.” She smiled softly,”You going somewhere today?”
“Just meeting some people in another city, the boss got you on a job today?” Nat looked at her
“As long as the others do, I’m there with them.”
“Don’t you think it’s strange?”
“What?”
“How he sends you out on jobs, but doesn’t exactly have you doing anything?”
“Yeah.. I wondered about that, too..” She looked at the ground,”The most I’ve done is clean up, other than that it’s like he wants me under constant supervision”
“So do the others know you’re out here?”
“Hey, they were asleep, it makes no difference if I strayed away while they’re knocked out” She shrugged
Upon ascending the porch steps, the front door swung open.
“(Y/n)!” Tobias stuck out the door, causing (Y/n) to freeze mid step on the stairs while looking at him with a hint of alert,”Did you see m-my headphones anywhere??” She shook her head,”Damn it! I think I left it in that pers-son's house from the last j-job”
Nat slightly grinned in amusement,”Is Tim up? Let him know his stuff is here”
Toby took the box that rattled upon being handed to him, the contents consisting of all kinds of metal parts and plastic bottles of fluids for their vehicle.
“Tim, Nat’s here with (Y/n)!” The tall brunette announced as he walked deeper into their living room
“And where were you?” Tim narrowed his eyes at (Y/n) as he and Brian worked away in the kitchen
“I was walking nearby,” She swore
“Don’t worry, we bumped into each other not far from here” Nat reassured him
“Yeah, well let us know next time before you leave” He pointed a wooden spoon at her
“Yes, sir” (Y/n) nods firmly while biting back a humorous grin
(Y/n) was observed to be a person of gentler traits, someone who didn’t raise her voice, extremely attentive to those in her presence with brows always twisted in what looked like continuous concern. She spoke honeyed words carefully thought out beforehand. She was not incompetent, she still scrambled about looking for something to aid her acquaintances in, but she was deemed unfit for the more brutal side of their jobs.
“Where’s Kate?” Nat surveyed the small living area
As if on que, the woman came in through the back door with a pile of fire wood tucked under her arm. She’d dawned on a maroon crop top meant to be worn for physical activity, along with a pair of black sweats. Kate immediately greeted their friend.
“I was on my way to the lake for some fish, wanna tag along?” Hayes offered
“Oh, hell yes” Nat approached her,”(Y/n), you coming?”
“Sure” She shrugged
“You haven’t gone fishing before, have you?” Kate wondered
“Nah, the hooks always intimidated me”
“Well, you’ve got the bes-st hunter and fisher we’ve met,” Toby pats Kate's shoulder,”Come, help me wi-with the gear” He ushered (Y/n) as he headed through the back door
Perched against the kitchen window built into the wooden wall, were three fishing rods and a cooler. Toby handed (Y/n) the coolers handle as it rolled on four wheels, handed one rod to Nat who met them shortly after with Kate and held the last two in his own, scarred hands.
“I remember the hook got caught in my arm, I d-didn’t even notice until Tim saw it like five minutes la-later” Toby recalled
“Maybe you’re lucky for not feeling it” (Y/n) said as the four ventured through the trees and ditches
“Sure, but too bad he didn’t notice that big ass fish Ben caught before it slapped him in the face” Nat told
“He does that on purpose! I swear!” He stressed,”Going to lakes with him turns in-into survival. Here’s my first t-tip,” He holds a finger before (Y/n), their newbie of the day,”Never go fishing with Ben.”
“And don’t hand your rod to Jeff, either,” Kate added,”The guys’ reckless with it. Last time we took him, he hooked Brian’s ear”
“And he was pissed” Toby claimed,”That was the first time I’ve seen Jeff b-back off when he tried l-lightening his mood after”
“Speaking of Brian, his birthday is this month,” Nat reminded,”Any ideas?”
A thoughtful silence fell upon the four as they continued to trek through the environment, until Toby shrugged.
“Fishing trip?” He suggested, Nat only bothered to give him a look of unamusement,”Ta-Taking up his chores is the best I can think of”
“Think harder” Oulette said
“Drive in movie theater?” (Y/n) thought aloud, and Nat immediately snapped her fingers
“That’s a good one,” She pointed at her
“I was looking around the house of our last target,” Kate began,”And I found some things in the man's closet that he might wear”
The peoples lives were much different than the one (Y/n) was accustomed to. Though, even her upbringing was still strange compared to the old lives they lived before becoming who they were now. Growing up in a family of cult members, where blood magic was the opposite of foreign to them. (Y/n)’s life consisted of running around a spotless manor, having bonds with their nannies and butlers stronger than with her own parents. Despite that, others struggling wasn’t a new concept to her, she understood that sometimes all people could afford on birthdays was temporarily setting aside responsibilities and spending time together.
A gaping space became noticeable as the four neared the lake, and (Y/n) began to make out the view of the lake waters surface. Following the group down a dock, Kate immediately began to explain the steps as Toby and Nat continued to chatter several feet across from them. Kate showed (Y/n) how to attach the bait before demonstrating the first throw into the water.
“How long does it take to catch one?” (Y/n) bent over the water, trying to make out any movement under the dark surface
“Can’t say, it all depends on the fish”
And soon enough, there was a tug at the woman's rod and she immediately began to steer. (Y/n) beamed with amusement at the squirming bass with its jaw pierced through Kate’s hook as she reared it in.
“Think you got it?” Kate asked after packing the dead fish into their cooler
“I’ll only learn through experience,” (Y/n) held her hand out for the rod.
Toby soon caught himself an eight-inch smelt as he and Nat continued to talk about their latest job, but as for (Y/n), she stood there for five minutes with no luck. She switched to sitting along the edge of the platform, legs hanging over the surface as Kate joined beside her, leaning back on her palms as the sun rays gently touched her skin. Only a few minutes passed until something began to harshly tug at (Y/n)’s grip. At the sound of her freaking out, Toby and Nat turned their heads in her direction. (Y/n) scrambled onto her feet as Kate watched, reeling the fishing line in as quick as she could, but upon noticing her struggle, Hayes got up and aided her with lifting it out the water. It soon made sense why (Y/n) struggled so much to lift it, as what had emerged from the surface was a giant northern pike. The four of them erupted in cheers as the fish whipped around, and even with the help of Kate, the fish’s flailing made it challenging to bring it forward. But with perseverance, (Y/n) managed to turn the rod sideways until the fish dangled above the dock, and its slimy body collided into the side of Toby’s face with a clear ‘SMACK’, the fish’s weight throwing him down the wooden planks, where he landed on his elbows.
(Y/n) had returned to Slenderman’s mansion, an illusion where the outside looked like an abandoned farm in the midst of the country hidden behind a corn field, until you opened the basement door of the house. It was like his own extension charm, an interior consisting of grand shared spaces and endless bedrooms. There were no windows, only fancy lamps and lights that never went out, though it didn’t feel stuffy inside at all. The temperature never fell too low or rose too high, only slightly picking up on the chill of night to indicate the fallen hours as the world continued to spin above them. Slenderman had given her brief yet firm orders: stick with his Brian, Tim, Kate and Toby. Wherever they went, she would closely shadow. As Natalie had described, it was in fact strange. Her family had followed the entity for generations, worshipping his existence, yet the one child who differentiated from the pack was the one granted honor in working closely with him. (Y/n) didn’t mind it at all, as he only demanded she be present with his workers whenever he couldn’t be with them. Tonight, he had summoned his four workers back to his magic estate, and once the five had arrived, she broke off from them.
The perks of living around so much nature were the critters that resided in what resources the earth offered for shelter. (Y/n) returned to the barn, occupying herself with an adolescent, black millipede. The pest excreted dark colored liquid from its pores upon being approached by the unfamiliar human, initially taking (Y/n) as a threat, but she didn’t mind. She let the creature explore her hands, holding it close to her face while examining its endless rings. Suddenly, the barn's trap door popped open, and Brian’s voice rang out from beneath it.
“Hey (Y/n), the boss is calling you,” He relayed
Slenderman spoke with her almost as often as he spoke with the other four, and if anything, (Y/n) felt more bonded with him than she did with her own family. It wasn’t until just months ago she’d met Kate, Brian, Tim and Toby, and with that the rest of the residents in Slenderman's home. Though they’d always caught glimpses of her when his followers came in for meetings and celebrations. It was easy to spot her in the crowd, her family showing up in black like it was a house color, rich trench coats and elegant gloves, the women in heels and men in leather loafers. And there was (Y/n) who stuck out like a highlighter, dressed as if she’d earned a role as Draculaura. She, along with the rest of her family, wore people's paychecks on her feet, casually dangled ones rent in the form of a purse on her shoulder and handled her designer makeup as if it were from the clearance section at Walmart. Some of the residents considered her the image of spoiled, another snobby person brought up by snobbier people. It was four proxies that Slenderman had catering their celebrations, cleaning up messes, making themselves invisible as possible around his loyal, wealthy followers, who either ordered them around or ignored their presence. Meanwhile (Y/n), in the most rebellious phase of her teens, had the decency to look at their faces and thank them firmly for every picked up plate and cup refilled, even cleaning up her own members' messes herself. And then one year, to Kate's mere horror, she found the kid in the kitchen washing the dishes while her family and fellow members were just a few halls down, laughing together.
This meant that (Y/n) decided to walk several minutes away from the gathering, in the lonely halls of the mansion, intending to ease the load on the four. The thing was, Slenderman gave them rewards for the extra work that was to cater to them, so she had to kick the girl out to earn her extra down time and money. And perhaps that was why her voice had never been heard at the table unless it was for conversation. Strict and firm was her family, with their noses pointed up and grins barely tugging at their lips, while (Y/n) lowered her head and followed their orders; she had only ever been tuned out as a mere observer to such council meetings. Her parents couldn’t decide whether to be delighted or wary of a daughter like her being put on such an important job by their leader.
The door to Slenderman’s office was cracked open, typically his permission to come in without notice. (Y/n) peaked her head in,
“You called?”
“I’ve called the others here for a meeting,” The entity declared
She stepped inside, the door clicking shut behind her. Slenderman watched as (Y/n)’s entire demeanor dropped like a blanket from her shoulders. Her feet fell perfectly beside each other, spine straight and shoulders pulled back as she locked her gaze on what would have been his pair of eyes.
“For what matter?” The young lady clasped her hands together, her expression nearly unreadable
“A few concerns of mine.” He explained, rounding his desk and blocking the sun with his tall figure, his featureless face turned toward her,”How are Kate and my boys? Easy to keep track of?”
“Of course,” She sat on a small couch,”They get their jobs done while looking out for me”
“I’d hope so, you’re an important member to my group, now”
(Y/n) briefly hesitated,“May I ask why that is?”
There was another matching couch across her, with a small table placed in the gap between. Though, Slenderman walked behind that couch, settling on standing over her despite the small distance between them.
“(Y/n), you’ve always indulged in our practices, always one to expand your knowledge and skillset in areas that many beyond your years would cower from.” He began,”I saw your potential since you were a child. Your passion for our traditions make you the greatest asset your family could offer me. I thank you for watching over my subjects during these dangerous times”
“So that’s what this is about?” A single brow arched in realization,”Are they aware of it?”
“No, they’re not,” He revealed,”But that won’t last long”
“And you plan to discuss whatever dangers lurk with my family and the others?”
Slenderman nodded, as it was not only (Y/n)’s family that his closest followers consisted of. Though she remembered growing up within the cult as if they were some form of extended relatives.
“I imagine this position is as important to you as it seems to me,” He commented,”Your parents never seemed that confident with your.. position amongst them.”
(Y/n) pursed her lips, head turning away in thought of how she’d been perceived. Or whether, allowed herself to be. She’d always grown up intending to maintain harmony, wanting to be the one others could turn to when the world turned its back on them, and being the calm voice of reason in a room of heated arguments, reminding everyone that the goal would always be ensuring everyone's wellbeing no matter the differing approaches. What came with remaining kind despite the demand for harshness was the assumption of naivete. And what came with being underestimated, was an abundance of openings to strike opponents. Being deemed as the soft one led to endless cracks she could slip past until her gentle words caused peers to bend in her liking. This had never gone unnoticed by the Operator, not when she meant to perform with a genuine heart, and not when she began to weaponize peoples’ special liking toward her. Because how could you hate someone that was gentle? How could you keep your guard against a person that looked like a lamb amongst wolves? (Y/n)’s parents had feared that Slenderman would one day find himself wrapped around her neck like a snake, not knowing she fit just right amongst the group. With scales of her own, bodies slithering against each other.
Predator amongst predator.
“I will.. Warn you; my subjects are of quick wit,” He noted,”They too have mastered the art of deception”
(Y/n) remained unfazed by the revelation, her position on the couch comfortably still.
“I was surprised at first when I realized how honest people became around those who seem to possess no spine.” She stated
“And what have you learned from them by pretending you haven’t one?”
“Only Tim’s obvious mental struggle, the surprising length of Brian’s anger and Kate’s hidden ability to care for others,” Her eyes nearly showed her amusement
“What do you plan to do with that information?” He finally sunk on the cushions across her
“Connect” She declared, voice low, tone steady yet spoken with the weight of anticipation
Slenderman crossed his slim arms, his long back pressing against the couch. He studied (Y/n) for a moment.
“How’s your brother? Have you been speaking with your family?” He asked her
“Of course; (B/2) is the same as always,” She claimed, eyes drifting downward as she shifted in her spot,”Why?”
“I suppose I wanted to know what to expect when we'd reunite” He refocused his gaze on her,”Don’t mistake my interest in him as a plan to place him above you, you have proven yourself continuously to surpass your family’s expectations. All that’s left is proving it to them.”
A knock was then heard from the door.
“Sir, they’re here,” Brian’s muffled voice called from the other side,”They’re waiting in the conference room”
(Y/n) and the Operator both stood at the same time. Upon entering the larger room down the hall, the chatter at the circular table ceased and the wooden chairs with its polish chipping off from decades of use screeched against the floor as everyone stood up, eyes directed to their lord. (Y/n)’s mother, (M/n) (L/n), couldn’t help the slight tug at the corner of her lips at the sight of her youngest daughter following behind him. (Y/n) stopped at the void seat between her mother and (B/2). Slenderman stopped at the chair between (F/n) and another close follower, before his voice played in every attendees head as he surveyed the entire group with his empty, white face.
“We have urgent matters to discuss.” And the whole room held its breath.
Laughing Jack walked down the mansion's halls with his towering figure and slouched shoulders. Exiting the kitchen was Sally, her beaten up teddy bear in one arm while her other hand clutched two slices of bread stuck together with a thick layer of chocolate spread. What truly caught the clown's eye was the pink gem against her chest that caught the chandelier lights. Someone had pulled her curls into a ponytail, leaving only her puffy bangs free. Sally had approached (Y/n) just years back, when the girl was believed to be 17. The eight year old complimented the dainty, silver necklace that hung from her neck, with a gem of a soft, pink shade dangling against her chest. There was no doubt the gem itself cost thousands of dollars, and the teen didn’t waste a second to reach behind her neck and unclip its metal hooks before handing it to the little girl with a smile. For the first time in a while, Sally became shy, shaking her head and shrinking away, but (Y/n) didn’t stop insisting, deciding to put it around Sally’s neck herself. Now, whenever (Y/n) would come visit the mansion, Sally always wore the accessory like a necessity. It was ritualistic at this point and everyone was aware of it.
“Sally, dear, (Y/n)’s visiting?” Jack spoke up in a light tone
The child ghost nodded, cheeks puffed and teeth seemingly glued from all the sugary spread she’d put.
“She’s with the Operator, they’re having another meeting.”
Jack’s black lips tugged into a sharp grin at the opportunity to see his old friend again. Upon making his journey to the second floor, he’d passed by an open sharing space with book shelves and a few chairs where he found (Y/n) sitting in one of them and (B/2) standing before her with his arms crossed. He’d worn a loosely tucked, black button up with dress pants and matching, matte lace-up shoes.
“I am not letting you help. I like to do things my own way on my own time.” (Y/n) seemingly waved off a proposal from her brother
“You should get checked for that” (B/2) implied
(Y/n) looked at (B/2) with annoyance,“My preferences aren’t always a sign of neurodivergence”
“Yeah, but there’s definitely something undiagnosed about you.” He insinuated,”Something that explains your fascination with blood and magic, and it’s not because of our traditional practices.”
“Can you leave me alone?” She tiredly begged with a miserable expression
“I’m just saying–”
(Y/n)’s peripheral caught Jack by the arched entrance and her entire head turned in his direction. The demon innocently clasped his hands before himself, before holding both palms facing up.
“I hope I’m not intruding,” He feigned oblivion
“No, you’re not,” She surveyed him with slightly narrowed eyes as (B/2) looked at him with a guarded expression
“I just found out you happened to stop by while I was around,” Jack steadily entered the room,”When was the last time we spoke, gumdrop?”
“When I was 13.” She recalled
“Ah, just a young witch,” He reminisced,”You’re still the same girl, just older”
The siblings flicked glances at each other when an awkward silence filled the air, and then (B/2) went to see himself out.
“Awful thing they do to you,” Jack pointed in his direction once he was out of sight, taking the seat across from her,”Not nice at all. Here in Slenderman’s home, you’d fit right in for being different”
“I’m afraid I already have, Jack”
“Really?? How come I’ve only now found out??”
“I’ve been staying with Kate and the other guys, in their cabin,” She sunk tiredly into the leather, circular chair
“Fun!” He smiled with crinkled eyes and teeth like that of a shark,”How was the adjustment? I assume it’s nothing like what you’re used to”
“I’ve stayed in cabins before, I only adjust to the people.”
“Cabins for your monthly vacations in Europe, I suppose?” He nearly leaned over her
There was a pregnant pause, and (Y/n) couldn’t resist the humored smile that fought its way onto her face, and then a chuckle escaped her lips as Jack laughed along.
“So, what does the big guy have you doing?”
“I’m just an extra pair of hands to take care of their business”
“Yes, but what exactly do you do?”
“Disobey orders” She tried to humor, the demon feigned amusement and she sighed with resignation,”I’ve just been cleaning after them”
“Well, as the humans say, ‘you gotta start somewhere’. I have no doubt you’ll be standing as their equal soon.”
(Y/n) stretched her lips into a smile that didn’t reach her eyes
“Anywho, have you made any new friends?”
Being his kind, (Y/n) figured he meant coming into contact with newer entities since they’d last interacted. She tilted her head in thought as she tried her best to recall that day just a few months prior,
“You feelin’ good? You feelin’ sassy?”
She shook her head.
“Ah,” He held a finger up,”That might’ve been for the best. Just know, if you ever find yourself in a sticky situation, you can call out to your old pal.” He placed a long, clawed hand over his chest
(Y/n) sneezed from a stray, black hair that came off his feathered shoulders.
“Pardon my feathers, I guess I should leave,” He pushes himself off the furniture and (Y/n) is once again taken aback by the height of the demon,”If you ever need me, just whisper my name” He grinned,”I’ll be there.”
(Y/n) had a room of her own in Slenderman's mansion, the theme not much different than the one in the manor she’d grown up in. With soft shades of pink decorating her bed spread paired with a white bed frame, some would initially assume it to be Sally’s only to find out that the girl had a broader color scheme. Along with a wardrobe and dresser was a large desk dedicated for her craft. The table had been marked with a large circle with the lines of an ‘X’ running through it. The surface was covered with melted, uneven taper candles, a handful of crystals, an offering tray, different animal bones and other miscellaneous items that she associated with the Operator along with other deities she’d followed. Books had been stacked against the wall ranging from demonology to the properties plants held in spirituality. One of her several tarot decks had been neatly packed away, along with varying tools for methods of extracting and preserving blood. (Y/n) knew from a young age that wherever she could practice her magic, she would be at home. It was the most sacred aspect in her life that brought her the most comfort, it was her personal field that distinguished her from everyone else. And despite the concern it aroused from her own parents and the slight distance it caused between herself and her siblings, she wouldn’t change it for anything.

Authors Note: As ya'll can tell (Y/n) has a specified style of fashion paired with a 'signature' color. But I'd like to imagine (Y/n) styling herself as if she were Elle Woods in court during more serious meetings such as conferences, but on a normal day she'd wear outfits like Draculaura. And when I say Draculaura, I mean the earlier version of Monster High. Crucify me for being opinionated but the new version of MH characters look like shit from a butt, might as well put them in galaxy print leggings. Also! I'd like to imagine Slenderman's voice as Erwin Smith's English dub! As for Laughing Jack.. Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Please let me know in the comments if you wish to be tagged for any upcoming parts of this AU, thank you for stopping by <3!
