Things I enjoy about Gareth’s and Roberta’s relationship with Richard.  Madelena states that no one loves Richard in season 1 and his nanny only cared about him because she was paid too. That he was unlovable.  But those two proved that not only is it false but he was loved that very moment. I’m not even talking about in a romantic sense.  Gareth canonically loves Richard.  It might not be romantic love, but Gareth admits he killed the only man he hugged because he dislikes them. But he hugged Richard and comforted him for 2 hours because Richard had his heart ripped out.  That is love.  Whether you view it as romantic is up to you.  And Roberta was willing to go to war for a man she hadn’t seen in year.  And I know spinster alley. But she stilled joined up with the Richard x gal bromantic road trip.  She did place her life in peril and she truly believed that she couldn’t protect him and didn’t want to watch him die.  Now you can argue that logic is infuriating.  I personally believe that she didn’t join him in battle was a huge disservice to her character but she still loved him.  

Like Richard was unlovable to everyone according to Madelena but he was loved by two people and Richard was unaware of that fact.

And on that note, can I have a drabble about the moment when Galavant realizes that Tad Cooper is not just a lizard?

So…Galavant was never my favorite, and what does it say about me that King Richard was. He was quite possibly the sweetest tyrannical Overlord ever. So yes Tad Cooper burned Gal’s arm… but it could have been much worse.

“You brought this on yourself, you know.”

“Richard!” Roberta hissed, dipping the towel into the bucket of warm, soapy water before bringing it to Galavant’s arm.

Richard shrugged, Galavant flinching as the rough cloth made contact with the burn down his arm. Sure, when Richard had told him about how much Tad Cooper had grown, he’d thought he was exaggerating and had to come see for himself. Actually coming face-to-face with a dragon had not been on the agenda. Roberta sighed and continued cleaning the wound of dirt and charred skin, trying to be as gentle as possible, but it was hard when Gal kept squirming away from her touch.

“You never believed in Tad Cooper, and he held a grudge. Took him some time to warm up to Roberta too, but still only eats when I feed him…because I super believed in him, when no one else did.”

Roberta’s Watch

Roberta didn’t know who she was in a past life but she must have done something heinous to be stuck in the position she is in now.  She always struggled with people flirting with her and having crushes.  She’s always worried she’d do something wrong and ruin everything.  And now both of these things are weighing on her constantly and it’s with someone who she shouldn’t even consider that way.  Princess Jubilee.  The person she was hired to protect and as of right now wearing a really tight dress and playing with her hair.  

“God your hair is so pretty, Bobbi.  You should let me braid it after you wake up in the morning.”  Jubilee smirked.  

“I. I would have to comb my hair before arriving here, so it would be already braided.”

“I meant when you finally stay the night Bobbi.” 

“Wouldn’t that be inappropriate.”

“I can hope.” Jubilee snickered.  “Bobbie my parents don't care how professional or unprofessional you are with me. So relax.  I have a whole bunch of things that are considered inappropriate.

She really should say no, but Roberta knew that tonight she isn’t going home.
