Now for a very special #TBT 😌 I’m so very proud to be part of the group of international creative professionals who have been working arduously for diversity and inclusion within the industries I operate. Within fashion I still remember the very special moment when in the #SpringSummer2011, I got the very exciting call that #RobertaNarciso who I had scouted was cast in the #Valentino show during Paris Haute Couture. For several seasons I remember either her , or only a handful of “ethnic” models being present on the runways or campaigns. Just as I remember hearing other international professionals saying that I was not competent enough to scout or mentor models because I was living and working in African country , and phrases undermining the potential of these young ladies like “ we don’t need any more black girls this season” and others too offensive for me to repeat today. So this particular fashion season made exceptionally proud to see that some of the believers or supporters my & my teams works are still here and have also motivated more of their peers to keep supporting people just like us from all around the world from various continents and ethnic backgrounds , especially African and Afro-descendant professionals in front of and behind the scenes. #Grateful #TheJourneyContinues #DiversityInFashion #DaBandaModelManagement #8yearchallenge #BlesnyaMinher #SompaAntonio #VeronicaCabral #8yearslater #ss2011 #ss2019 (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/ButiKytj6r8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1k76al27qhwgu
