We will exhibit work by Hamptons-based artist Robert Harms at the upcoming Hamptons Virtual Art Fair, July 23-26 and September 2-7, including “Yellow Lillies,” from 2007. Although abstractions, Harms’ work is based on a strong relationship to place, particularly the pond abutting his secluded, window-filled studio in Southampton. One writer for the NYT puts it this way: “I’ll admit that the thought of spending a year painting by a pond in Southampton fills me with jealousy...but the reality of doing so is rather more difficult, for it demands not just reliance on intense observation of nature but an extreme sensitivity to subtle, often fleeting atmospheric effects. This is an issue of artistic temperament as much as talent.” Contact for details. #robertharms #thehamptons #southampton #artoftheday #interiordesign #atmospheric #abstractpainting #abstractexpressionism @hamptonsvirtualartfair https://www.instagram.com/p/CCeJ6lbg2Gi/?igshid=1mf2un4ntcfm6
