Truth: Red, White, & Black by Robert Morales and Kyle Baker. The story of the first Captain America and the controversial origin of the super soldier serum. This comic takes an unflinching look at the abhorrent racism of the US Army and it's treatment of black soldiers through the Tuskegee experiments during WWII. Isaiah Bradley is one of the few survivors and becomes the Captain America nobody was told about. This comic features very original artwork by Kyle Baker. The style of Baker clashes in a great way with the dark and unapologetic tone of the comic's story. This is some of the heaviest commentary I've seen in a Marvel comic. Also, I like the salt they throw in here by making Isaiah the Captain America that actually faced off against Hitler. A great superhero story that explores and digs into the US'd shameful past in a very sincere manner with layers of social/racial/military commentary. #CaptainAmerica #IsaiahBradley #TruthRedWhiteAndBlack #RobertMorales #KyleBaker #BlackComicsMonth #ExploreBlackComics #Marvel @marvel
