Here is a look at a project I’m working on - The San Diego Conquest. Coming to Kickstarter later this year, with writer Mario Candelaria, artist Robin Alan, and letterer Taylor Esposito. Should be fun!

Untitled. (Happy Birthday, Saga.) Manga Studio, 15.6.24
I tried a different approach to a regular portrait, using reference from an old issue of WinkUp magazine. I’ve always enjoyed the shot of Saga in the kimono, and wanted to recreate it with minimal linework. I was originally going to leave the screentones out, but decided to add them, especially to his hair and face, for extra depth. PLEASE DO NOT OMIT TEXT WHEN REBLOGGING.
Slightly Alphonse Mucha-inspired interpretation of X JAPAN's 'Art of Life' cover, featuring Yoshiki.
October 13-14, 2013. Watercolor, ink, whiteout pen.
This was done for tattoo reference.
Big sale going on over at my Etsy shop, with most paintings on sale for half-off! That means $10 paintings! Go grab Gary King while he's still available!
I currently do work for Filthy Figments, which is an adult comic site run by women. FF is a subscription-based site and is totally NSFW.
As I'm working on 4 pages for the site today, I thought it would be fun to show how I do a panel from start to finish. I don't post a lot of WIP shots of comic pages, These pictures were taken with my phone, so please excuse any funkiness in angle or quality!
I use Manga Studio to sketch and ink my comic pages, and then port them over to Photoshop to color and add text and other elements. This full page (which ad 5 panels total) took 2.5-3 hours to complete, from start to finish. When I just used Photoshop, these would take 5-6 hours. Manga Studio's super-fluid pens and brushes make inking a breeze!
This will all be posted on FF tonight, if anyone is of age and interested!
