Felt like drawing some of the first characters we get introduced to in my novel. First of course is Mason and Daniel, the protagonists. Then we meet their classmates, Kaitlynn (it says Katie in the pic but that’s because I forgot her name) and Robin. They don’t have major roles once Mason and Daniel leave on their roadtrip that the majority of the book centers on, but they do have a fairly important role nonetheless. It’s Kaitlynn who established their school’s Vampire-Human Alliance, or VHA, because she was tired of seeing so much misunderstanding and hatred hurled at her girlfriend Robin and also at Mason, who had become a vampire over the summer before their senior year. Not to mention the crap the other vampires in the school have to deal with.
So yeah, Kaitlynn started the VHA and runs it with Robin as her vice president, and she invites Mason to their first meeting. Of course he goes, and eventually gets elected as the treasurer. Mason and Daniel regularly attend meetings and the club works to help their fellow students understand that vampires don’t need to be feared, they’re just people and they aren’t going to hurt anyone.
But yeah, Kaitlynn’s a decent student and she likes singing and writing poems. She can get nervous when lots of people are looking at her but once she starts talking she speaks very well and can be quite persuasive. Meanwhile Robin is an overachiever who both plays on the girl’s volleyball team (she and Daniel are pretty good friends) and also goes out for track, and she takes AP classes. She’s a force to be reckoned with for sure. You’re likely to find her pumping iron in the school gym during study hours while Kaitlynn quizzes her. Tank tops technically are against school dress code but no one wants to tell one of their best athletes (and students, who’s also a vampire) to stop wearing them. So she gets away with it. Thank you, Robin.
So yeah, those are a couple more of the characters. :D I’ll probably work on full body pictures soon so I can figure out their exact body types, but Mason is fairly scrawny, Daniel’s lean and tall, Kaitlynn is kinda short and average, and Robin is just. Beefy. It doesn’t come across well in this but I was drawing in pen and couldn’t erase anything. When I do full references I’ll fix it. But yeah Robin’s a Big Strong. Enjoy!
Edit: Okay so I reread the earlier chapters and Katie’s name is actually Kaitlynn. So I’m gonna leave it as that. i just. i’m forgetting names, this is so sad, this is why i gotta draw reference sheets for everyone no matter how minor
